Rothschild House State Park is a 1/2 acre park that features a restored, historical house that is operated seasonally as an interpretive center.

The Rothschild house was built in 1868 and depicts the architecture of its time. It is furnished with items dating before the turn of the century and contains over 2,500 antiques, most of which are the furnishings of the original inhabitants. It features formal gardens planted with "old fashioned" or non-hybrid roses, an herb garden, peony beds, lilac hedges, and other old varieties of flowers from around the United States.

The park is listed in both the State and National Registers of Historic Places.

The main activities in the park are the Interpretation center within the Rothschild House and the enjoyment of the formal "old fashioned" gardens.

The climate in this area is influenced by both the Olympic Mountains and the bodies of water that surround the Olympic Peninsula. It is generally a marine climate, mild and temperate, with the Pacific Ocean moderating temperatures throughout the year.

Winters are cool and cloudy with rain and some snow. Maximum winter temperatures are in the mid- to high 40s with minimum temperatures in the mid 30s. Summers are warm and relatively dry with maximum and minimum temperatures in the mid 70s and low 50s, respectively. This area averages 51 inches of precipitation per year.
