Cornet Bay State Park has 1,140 square feet of moorage float space, a boat launch, a sewage pump-out station, and a Port a-potty dump station. Facility use is first come, first served, with continuous moorage limited to three consecutive nights. Fees are charged year around. Current fees are $8 a night or $50 a year for boats under 26 feet in length. Fees are $11 a night or $80 a year for boats more than 26 feet in length. Activities in the 40 Washington State saltwater parks are varied and may include hiking scenic island paths, watching forest critters, exploring old forts, searching for fossils, fishing, clamming, crabbing and just plain relaxing.
Washington's climate varies with each region. Cornet Bay State Park is located in an area "protected" by surrounding ocean waters and mountain ranges. Temperatures are consistently moderate, rarely topping 80 degrees in the summer and rarely falling below 30 degrees in the winter.
Annual rainfall averages 26 inches, approximately half that of Seattle. In the summer months, and especially during July and August, the park may go for weeks without a cloud in the sky. Snowfalls occur mainly in January and February and usually total only one or two inches. Northeast winds may cause temperature extremes.
Island tides range over 14 feet. The extreme low tide of 4.0 feet to the extreme high tide of over 10 feet.
