Red Fleet State Park consists of developed sites on the shores of Red Fleet Reservoir. The lake is surrounded by red Slickrock formations which form a dramatic background for excellent boating and year-round fishing endeavors. Recently a dinosaur trackway dating back 200 million years was discovered in the area, making the state park lands attractive to paleontologists of all ages.Facilities at this state park include a small sandy beach, boat launching ramp, two modern rest rooms, 29 campsites, 32 covered picnic tables and fish cleaning and sewage disposal stations.
Recreation opportunities include boating, swimming and picnicking. During the winter months fishing, wildlife viewing and camping are available for visitors. Hiking, biking and off-road vehicle use opportunities lie nearby within areas administered by the Bureau of Land Management.
This state park lies at an elevation of 5,500 feet within the northeastern portion of Utah immediately south of the easternmost Uinta Mountains. The climate is arid with hot summers and cold winters. Temperatures can vary greatly within one day so layered clothing is recommended in any season. Warm temperatures usually begin in May and last into September. Cool weather can begin in August. Warm layers should be in every campers wardrobe, as well as sunscreen, sunglasses and a brimmed hat.
