Green River State Park is a good place to take a break when traveling on Interstate 70. It lies next to the Green River, which provides water for the lush lawns and tall cottonwood trees that grow within the park. On a hot summer day this park can feel like an oasis in the Utah desert.

Facilities at this site include a 42-unit campground, hot showers, modern rest rooms,
group-use pavilion, amphitheater for interpretive programs and boat launching ramp. A new nine-hole golf course with its meandering fairways, lakes and traps is challenging and fun for all levels of golfers.

Visitors to this park can enjoy boating and fishing in the Green River. Other activities include camping, picnicking, viewing interpretive programs and golfing. The public lands surrounding the park provide opportunities for hiking, mountain biking and off-road vehicle use.

This region of Utah, like most others, is arid, receiving approximately 12 inches of rain per year. The fall and spring are the most pleasant times to visit Green River State Park, and also the most crowded, with warm days and cool nights. Summer brings very hot days and visitors are encouraged to curb activities during the hot afternoons. In winter expect warm days and very cold nights.
