Bear Lake State Park is a recreational site with facilities for water sports, camping and picnicking. The park consists of three areas: the Marina, Rendezvous Beach and East Side. Each portion of the park provides lake access, but has a different recreational focus. The Marina lies on the southwestern shore of Bear Lake and highlights boating. Rendezvous Beach are focuses on swimming and camping. The East Side is the least developed area of the park. It supports primitive camping, scuba diving and boating.Attractions at Bear Lake State Park include a full-service marina with a five-lane boat ramp. Also within the Marina district of the park is a group picnic pavilion, campground, waste disposal station and visitor center. At the Rendezvous Beach area you'll find a large campground, swimming beach and water access for small craft. The East Side district of Bear Lake supports two concrete boat ramps and six primitive campgrounds, one of which has drinking water.
This state park provides various opportunities for water-oriented activities including: waterskiing, swimming, scuba diving and sailing. Fishing for cutthroat, mackinaw and whitefish is a favorite activity for visitors to the lake. During the winter snowmobilers and ice anglers find solace at this site. In January the annual Bonneville Cisco run occurs at East Side on Cisco Beach.
Bear Lake lies in the eastern mountains of Utah at a moderate elevation, which makes for mild summers and cold winters. The area gets most of its precipitation in the form of winter snow and late summer thunderstorms. Like the rest of the state this area is relatively arid.
