Westcott Beach State Park is a lovely park located along the shores of Lake Ontario. The park is characterized by rolling woodland hills and open meadows. Peaceful campsites are located on a bluff overlooking the sparkling waters. A small marina, a swimming beach, children's play area and a number of trails attract thousands to this year-round park. Winter access is permitted for cross-country skiing. Hunting is permitted in season.Westcott Beach State Park is a popular day use and camping park on Lake Ontario, with rolling, wooded hills and open, grassy meadows sheltered by Henderson Bay. It offers restful campsites located on a bluff, from which the view is spectacular. A small marina is adjacent to the long, sandy beach to accommodate anglers interested in Lake Ontario's excellent black bass fishing. The park also has a children's playground, picnic areas and hiking trails that do winter duty for cross-country skiing.
Westcott Beach State Park offers a sandy swimming beach, a boat launch site, camper recreation, dockage, fishing, power boating, hiking, hunting, group camping, picnic shelters and tables, a children's playground, recreation programs and campground with showers. The park is open from mid-May through mid-October. Waterfowl hunting is permitted in season.
The Westcott Beach area has a varied climate with average January temperatures ranging from below 14 degrees reaching to 22 degrees Fahrenheit (below -10 to -6 degrees Celsius). Summer temperatures average between 72 degrees and below 68 degrees Fahrenheit (22 to below 20 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from less than 36 to 40 inches of rain and snowmelt.
