Mary Island is located to the east of Wellesley Island. Access is by boat only from either Grass Point State Park (4 miles over water), or Keewaydin State Park, which is 2 miles from the island. A campground and picnic area are the main attractions besides boating and fishing.Mary Island State Park comprises 12 heavily wooded acres with steep rocky outcroppings. Twelve waterfront campsites are scattered throughout the park, offering seclusion and spectacular views of the Canadian shore. Boats may be beached or moored near campsites. The park has a picnic area and several foot trails.
Mary Island offers fishing, power boating, dockage, picnic area and campground. The park is open for camping from mid-May to Labor Day.

Summer temperatures average between 72 degrees and below 68 degrees Fahrenheit (22 to below 20 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from less than 36 to 40 inches of rain and snowmelt.
