Delta Lake State Park is located in the Central Travel Region of New York jutting out into the waters of the Delta Reservoir. The land is wooded yet flat offering a very pleasant location for picnickers, boaters, anglers, campers and those who enjoy winter sports.

Located a short driving distance from Rome, New York this park is a popular recreation site. The beautiful parcel offers water on three sides with pleasant summer breezes flowing through the campground and picnic sites. Fishermen enjoy the fact the lake has two boat launches, one within the park and the other located across the lake. Catches include trout, pike, bass, bullhead and perch. The reservoir is very popular with power boaters and other water sport enthusiasts. The campground includes over 100 sites. Winter visitors are offered cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing.

Fishing, picnicking, camping, recreation programs, hiking, power boating, playground, a nature trail, mountain biking, swimming and winter cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing are offered.

The Delta Lake State Park area experiences average January temperatures from 18 degrees to above 22 degrees Fahrenheit (-8 to above -6 degrees Celsius). It is important to note that this area receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in the nation. Summer temperatures average around 72 degrees Fahrenheit (around 22 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from 36 inches to more than 44 inches of rain and snowmelt. The heaviest precipitation is received in the region's northeast segment.
