Cedar Point State Park, one of the oldest state parks in New York. The popular park overlooks the beautiful St. Lawrence River with sights of oceangoing freighters. Visitors to the park enjoy a boat launch, fishing, picnicking and swimming beach.

Cedar Point State Park, one of the oldest state parks in New York, is a popular spot, offering excellent camping, fishing, boating and swimming. The beach is sheltered and sandy. There are docks for boats, a fishing pier and picnic grounds. From the overlook area, visitors can watch oceangoing freighters pass by.

Cedar Point State Park offers a swimming beach, a boat launch, boat rental, fishing, hunting, marina, picnic tables and shelters, playground, power boating, recreation programs, and campground with showers. The park is open from early May through Columbus Day. Waterfowl hunting is permitted in season.

The Cedar Point area has a varied climate with average January temperatures ranging from below 14 degrees reaching to 22 degrees Fahrenheit (below -10 to -6 degrees Celsius). Summer temperatures average between 72 degrees and below 68 degrees Fahrenheit (22 to below 20 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from less than 36 to 40 inches of rain and snowmelt.
