The unique beauty and natural wonders at Hyde Park make it an unforgettable reminder of nature's complexity. Awesome scenery, a quiet natural setting, and easy access make Hyde Memorial State Park a favorite picnic area, campground, respite, and base camp for excursions into the surrounding Santa Fe National Forest.

The park sits at an elevation of 8,500 feet and covers 350 acres. Facilities include a visitor center, group shelter, playground, 44 campsites, RV dump station, restrooms, and showers.

Located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the park is vegetated with dense stands of evergreens, as well as aspen and shrubs. As a natural refuge for wildlife, the park provides the opportunity for the quiet and cautious visitors to view deer, raccoon, fox, coyote, squirrels,
porcupine, and numerous species of butterflies and birds.

Sledding and cross-country skiing are delightful winter diversions in the snow-carpeted Hyde Park mountains. Other recreation opportunities include camping, picnicking, and hiking.

Annual precipitation is 24 inches of rain 125 inches of snow. Summer temperatures range from lows around 52 to highs around 86. Winter temps range from lows of 16 degrees to highs around 48.
