Located along US 1A almost to the Maine state line is access to the fishing waters of the great North Atlantic Ocean. The marina and state park acreage offer an opportunity to swim, fish, launch a boat and even take a whale watching cruise.

Rye State Marina and the adjacent Rye Harbor State Park encompass 63 acres along the Atlantic Coast. This beautiful pristine area offers spectacular views, ocean breezes and an opportunity to sunbathe, swim, surfcast and even offshore charter fishing and pleasure cruises.

Launching a boat, purchasing fuel, having a place to park your car and trailer and even taking a whale watching cruise are the main attractions at Rye State Marina. There are a few picnic tables scattered about this busy summertime spot. The marina is open each year from mid-May to mid-October. Adjacent to the marina is Rye Harbor State Beach which offers swimming and sunbathing. The fees for using the State Marina are broken down as follows:
Parking Only - $4.00
Car Top Boats - $5.00
Car and Trailers - $8.00

Winter can be cold with average temperatures ranging around 19 degrees Fahrenheit. The cold temperatures humidity bring heavy, water-laden snow to all parts of the state. Spring begins in mid-March and lasts through May. This time of the year is referred to as mud season in the mountains. The sugar is flowing early in the season and wild flowers bloom toward the end of it. Summer is the busiest season of the year for the tourism industry. This is an excellent time to travel, mountain roads are open and most of the mud has dried. Average summer temperatures range around 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Fall brings the leaf lookers to see the spectacular colors of the deciduous trees. Expect to see bus loads of people enjoying the crisp fall New England weather.
