Moose Brook State Park is ideally situated as a base for a leisurely day-trip or strenuous hike up 6,288-foot Mt. Washington, the highest peak in the northeast. Mt. Washington experiences harsh weather with dramatic changes; it is the site of the highest land wind speed recorded in the world at 231 mph. This beautiful recreation area offers camping, swimming, picnicking, mountain biking, fishing and hiking.Moose Brook is ideally located for fishing in the Peabody and Moose rivers. The Moose Brook flows through the park and after passing through a shallow warming pool, feeds the swimming area with cool, clear mountain water. This scenic park is located just north of the White Mountain Presidential Range.
Visitors to Moose Brook State Park enjoy camping, swimming, picnicking, mountain biking, fishing and hiking. A bathhouse, camp store and youth group area are among the amenities.

Winter can be cold with average temperatures ranging around 19 degrees Fahrenheit. The cold temperatures humidity bring heavy, water-laden snow to all parts of the state. Spring begins in mid-March and lasts through May. This time of the year is referred to as mud season in the mountains. The sugar is flowing early in the season and wild flowers bloom toward the end of it. Summer is the busiest season of the year for the tourism industry. This is an excellent time to travel, mountain roads are open and most of the mud has dried. Average summer temperatures range around 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Fall brings the leaf lookers to see the spectacular colors of the deciduous trees. Expect to see bus loads of people enjoying the crisp fall New England weather.
