St. Clement's Island marks the spot where some of the first English settlers landed, using the island as a base camp for further exploration. The island park is accessible only by boat, therefore, despite the busy coastline, a remote atmosphere reigns on this tiny public parcel.

St. Clement's Island is a beautiful day use park for boaters. A small slip provides a pull-up location allowing visitors to hike and picnic the 40-acre Tidewater site. At present, there are no accessible facilities. Fishing at the island is almost second nature for locals and visitors alike.

Outdoor recreations enjoy at this 40-acre park include fishing, hiking, hunting and picnicking.

Maryland has four distinct seasons with spring and fall being particularly pleasant with low humidity and mild temperatures. The average January temperature ranges between 30 and 34 degrees F (-1 to 1 C) with July averages ranging between 74 degrees F and 80 degrees F. Typically, coastal temperatures are slightly warmer then the western Appalachian Plateau area. Travelers should be aware that winters can become miserably cold and summers can be hazy, hot and humid with afternoon thundershowers.
