Crescent Beach State Park, located below South Portland is a busy day use facility. Many visitors come to fish, swim and enjoy ocean views.

The 243-acre park is located below South Portland off SR 77. This is a busy area with much to see and do. Lighthouses are an attraction that draws many summer visitors. Fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities along with a sandy swimming beach, picnic area and playground draws many visitors as well.

Swimming, picnicking, playground, fishing, nature photography, viewing lighthouse and viewing wildlife are main attractions to Crescent Beach State Park.

Even though this park officially opens Memorial Weekend, folks tend to park along the entrance road and walk around the gate. It's a short hike to the ocean.

The Greater Portland and Casco Bay Region sees daytime winter temperatures averaging above 18 degrees Fahrenheit (above -8 Celsius). Summers are pleasant and rarely experience hot days. The visitor can expect daytime temperatures to range above 68 degrees Fahrenheit (above 20 Celsius). The region has an average precipitation of more than 44 inches (112 centimeters) each year. Summer rainfall averages 3 - 4 inches per month.
