Nestled in the hills north of Santa Ana Canyon and in the middle of urban southern California, Chino Hills State Park offers trails for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians. Chino Hills contains rolling, grass-covered hills, riparian habitats with oak and sycamores, and what is thought to be the largest remaining native stand of Southern California black walnut trees. The park is home to deer, coyote, bobcats and badgers.

The park offers 13,000 acres of wilderness area and has over 65 miles of trails. Activities at the park include camping, hiking, mountain bike riding and horseback riding. (Rentals are not provided).

Camping Information - Primitive and equestrian sites - 2.5 mile walk to some sites - no drinking water, showers or hookups. Please contact the park directly for detailed camping availability.

Primitive campsites for equestrian and general use.
A maximum of eight persons/two vehicles are permitted par campsite.
All facilities are on a first-come-first-served basis.
Groups of 25 and over are required to fill out a special group permit 30-40 days in advance.

A warm, dry Mediterranean climate prevails over Southern California - inland it is hot in the summer, mild in the winter. Coastal areas have a more moderate climate with frequent fog in the summer. Most of the precipitation comes as rain during the winter months.
