Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources displays working outdoor exhibits including an oil well, pumping rig and three derricks. The museum collects, preserves and exhibits examples of Arkansas's changing oil technology and brine industry, and focuses on the 1920s oil boom in south Arkansas. Temporary and traveling exhibits are displayed inside the museum. Two video presentations depict the discovery of oil and brine in Arkansas.Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources offers tours of the museum. There are not any outdoor activities offered at this site.

Spring and fall temperatures are very mild with lows dipping to 44 degrees F and highs reaching 70 degrees F. July and August are the hottest months of the year with average temperatures reaching 90 degrees F. June and September average temperatures usually reach into the mid-eighties. Spring and winter months are the wettest of the year.
