Excellent place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/09
I stayed here with my family only one night. The room was really clean. Staff was VERY helpful. Carmen Alfano, guest services manager, made our stay very pleasant. The negotiated parking fee across the street, $20 per day was much better rate than many other places in NYC. The breakfast was excellent; everything you can think of for breakfast was available. The only down side was the size of the breakfast room which could be a bit problem when it is crowded but the food and staff made up for it. Great location; close to battery park from where ferries take off for the Statue of Liberty, the NY Stock Exchange, China Town, The little Italy. They are all within walking distance. You can take the subway to the Time Square and the upper Manhattan. The room rate was rate was reasonable for NYC location ( compared to other hotels ) I highly recommend this place. Have fun.

love,love,this hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/04/08
This was our families first time to New York, and I was worried about what my hotel would be like. Since I could only search on the internet. I am very, very, picky about where I stay. Clean freak! I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Rooms were very clean. Housekeeper did a great job at cleaning our room. We had a room with a patio which we loved, having a patio did make the room smaller, but it was fine for 2 people. Bed was so comfy. I can't say enough about all the staff, so helpful, very, very friendly. Everyone there was so nice. They could'nt do enough for you. Breakfast was great. Kept everything very clean and well stocked. Afternoon cookies were delicious. I loved this hotel, would stay here again. Looked forward to going back my hotel room every night. Thank u everyone at Hampton Inn Seaport. Your friends from Oregon!

Great experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/07
For the price this hotel was excellent. The service was great, rooms were large for the city and clean. Short walk to subway right into Times Square. Walk to Canal/Chinatown/Little Italy. We would stay again in a minute!

Made 1st trip to NY a wonderful time
By Tiffany, 09/03/07
This is probably one of the best places I have ever stayed. The rooms are small, but who goes to NY to sleep all day, right? The hotel has been remodeled with everything pretty much new. Flat screen plasma tv's, comfy bed linen. It is in a great location, near the subways, the financial district and for those concerned about safety, it is near the police department, we could see it from our room. Great service!! the complimentary breakfast was a added bonus. We stayed for 6 days and would go back to this same hotel!

a perfect stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/21/07
We loved this hotel. It was small, which we like, tastefully done and within walking distance of the South Street Seaport and lower Manhattan. The Brooklyn Bridge was nearby and we could see the lights of a ship in the harbor from our window. The best was the room! Small but with every detail perfect...most comfortable bed we have ever slept in, lots of pillows, a duvet to die for, flat screen TV, internet access, soft colors and almost a zen-like feel. Complimentary breakfast and newspaper were a perfect start to the day. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the City. Quiet and nice...

Outstanding service
By Mary, 04/16/07
What makes this hotel exceptional is its service. Every employee goes out of his or her way to make sure your stay is as positive as possible. They provided umbrellas when it rained, bagged the continental breakfast so you could grab it and run, brought up complimentary chocolates to the room just to be nice, and called to ask if there was anything more they could do. I felt like a VIP. The rooms are spotless. The beds are FANTASTIC -- great matresses and bedding. The room was small but they made good use of the space. It didn't feel cramped. The price was standard. Guests should be advised, however, that the Financial District is closed and everyone is in bed by 8:00. If you're looking for night life, get a hotel in midtown.

An Offense I Hope to Never Repeat
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/25/06
Where do I start? I don't believe, except for being desperate or in need of immediate logging, I would not ever repeat the offense of staying at this hotel. Don’t get me wrong, the staff was nice, however, certain individuals within that staff really lead me astray when it came to information pertaining to the area. For instance, I was told, when I reserved the rooms via phone, that the World Trade Center/Ground Zero site was approximately 1 block from the hotel. When I got there, I was told it was a 5 minute walk to the site. When I asked the doorman (I think he was the doorman) how long is the walk from the hotel to the WTC/Ground Zero site, he said 18 blocks! I took the walk to the site and nearly died. Not because of exhaustion but purely out of amazement that I was either lied to or people that were giving the information we’re sorely mistaken about their knowledge of NYC. Oh well, what can you say? First impressions are lasting ones, and this one will stick for a lifetime. Also, I was told that the rooms are quite spacious. If you do your homework, you’ll find that to be to the contrary. The rooms are small and I had the pleasure of having a very nice view of the back alley… Truth be told, it might take a true act of God to get me to stay there again. Randy (Massachusetts)
