Good value for quick trip.
By RomanEyes4, 07/25/09
What we liked was that the hotel gave you that feeling of being a clean and fresh establishment. It was in a safe area right off the freeway with free lighted parking and only about a 5 minute drive to Disneyland, NOT walking distance. The free breakfast and coffee was good for being free and the rooms were your average rooms but they were clean and fresh. What we did not like was the overall customer service. The staff just gave you that feeling of not being happy workers. They answered our questions and concerns but sometimes in a rude manner. The rooms also did not have refridgerators in them and the air conditioner works really well but it was hard to keep the room from beiong too cold and then having the heater pop on making the room muggy. But for the price we got it was what we expected from an average hotel. This is a grewat place to stay if you drive in and are on a budget. We would stay there again if we had to do a budget vacation again.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/09
We stayed here for our summer vacation to Disneyland and was very happy with the Hotel and staff. The staff was very helpful and polite. The breakfast was great and the pool was awesome. On our next trip to Disneyland, we WILL be staying at this Hotel again.

WORST HOTEL
By Peter, 01/14/09
Staff is rude and unhelpful. there are plenty of hotels in this area, do your self a favor and stay elsewhere. Front Desk staff Andrea V. is extremely rude, would not allow us to have our seeing eye dog in our room, she wanted us to leave it in our car!! extremely rude!!! Hotel looks rather old, bathrooms not up to Holiday Inn standards!

We LOVE this hotel!
By justin, 07/08/08
Our family has stayed at this hotel 5 times in the last 2 years. If you are looking for a CLEAN hotel, with GREAT service, really decent FREE breakfast near Disneyland, you need to stay here. It is never too crowded. The pool is great for kids. You're about 4 miles from Disney, but we have annual passes and get free parking, so that has never been a problem for us (who wants to walk back to a hotel after 12+ hours of walking around the parks all day anyways?) The bathrooms are really nice, you don't get black feet walking barefoot on the carpet (like some other supposedly nice hotels nearby), and the beds are very comfortable. We already have our next trip planned there in just a few months, and have referred many people to this hotel, all of whom have had a wonderful experience as well.

great deal and brkfast- a little too far from DL
By dutchess, 11/08/07
We stayed at the garden grove Holiday Inn Express oCTOBER 9-13, 2007. I was very impressed with the hotel as a whole. We booked it through Get Away Today and got the 4th night free, total 280 for 4 nights with taxes and fees! Its a brand new hotel, medeteranian style, beautiful lobby, very clean, 3 star establishment. When I booked online in the comments section I added that we would like to be upgraded to the jr suite, on arrival we were complimentary upgraded to the suite, but not just any suite, the balcony suite-there are only two. It was very nice, huge, and slightly odd. The bathroom was in the middle becasue of the wedge shape of the room, which seperated the small kitchen, sitting area from the king bed, balcony area. It was all enclosed instead of the vanity being accesible form the room. It wasn't a big deal, but it felt like a cave in the front portion of the room becasue of the lack of windows. It was nice to have the fridge, micro, and extra sink, and the couch folded out into a bed for the kids, ages 6 and 4. It was also very nice that the kids cave room was so seperate from the bed area. HOWEVER- sure it looked great upfront, but about 12am, and again at 3am we were woken by sirens and the street noise that I hadn't noticed before kept us awake. Apparently the hospital was just down the street. In the morning we asked to move and the very helpful front desk people- no service complaints whatever- gave us the key to another room to check out. The regular room was very nice, typical, spacious and clean, and away from the street, but the kids could bear leaving the balcony room, so I agreed to give it one more night. Disneyland did the trick- I slept like a log the rest of the trip and never heard a single sound. The breakfast was great- heavy on the carbs, but hey this is disneyland! There were donoughts, waffles, toast, boiled eggs, bagels and crem cheese, 3 kinds of juice, coffee, cocoa, milk, cereal, YOGURT a nice selection of fruit and of course the fabulous hot cinnamon rolls that all hi expresses brag about. The breakfast room was nice and spacious and there was also an exterior pool side patio adjacent. We loved the pool, nice and warm and big and pretty. I actually swam which I rarely do! The kept things very well stocked and it was open till ten of weekends. We used the ART shuttle to get to the park and back all 3 days which totaled $18 (KIDS UNDER 9 ARE FREE) instead of the 30++ parking would have cost. It was great on the way there, we were the last stop and got to DL in about 12 minutes. It left an hour before opening which kept us on schedule and ahead of the crowds. HOWEVER on the way back it took 3o minutes becuase we were the 5th or 6th stop. This is my only real complaint about the hotel. When your exhausted and especially with kids half an hour is too long to wait. Also the last shuttle was 30 minutes after closing so you didn't have the option of jumping in line for nemo etc. at the last minute to stretch early closing hours. My husband was also able to do his online masters courses from the (gorgeous!)lobby located computer for free. Very convenient as we wern't traveling with a laptop. Great friendly prompt service. oVERALL- A GREAT DEAL, WISH IT HAD BEEN CLOSER, if your driving to the park it would be near perfect. Don't pay the regular prices, look for a bargain, there are always bargains in anaheim for those who don't mind doing their homework.

Don't Use
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/16/07
This hotel was terrible. First when I made the reservation I was told the room had a refrigerator and microwave in the room. When we checked in and noticed the room had neither, I went to the desk clerk and they said it was in the suites only. I asked if there was a microwave that could be used, they said no. Next, I asked about the free shuttle to Disneyland that was advertised on their website. They said it wasn't free that it was $3 a person. Four of us in a room and three towels. I told the maid for four days we needed four towels and continually had to go to the front desk each night to get the extra towel. Plus the housekeeping staff coming into the breakfast area each morning to pick out their breakfast along with one morning sitting at a table. Also, the tables were never cleaned off unless you did it yourself. Plus don't expect hi-speed internet especially if you use their computer that is SCREWED into the table to prevent it from disappearing. With all the other hotels around, chose someplace else. We will next time!

Perfect for a Disneyland stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/27/07
The location was excellent. It's right off of Harbor on Garden Grove, just around the corner from all the other big hotels near Disneyland. The hotel itself was fairly new so nothing was grungy at all. The staff was nice and helpful and can offer suggestions for eats in the area. They even offer free breakfast in the mornings. Just enough to get you ready for a day at the parks. Parking is free. There is a swimmng pool and jacuzzi, however, a bit chilly in February to take advantage of it. High-speed internet is also free for those on business. Great bargain.
