Great rooms, staff needs to smile

Doorman, receptionist, first concierge - none bothered to smile. One concierge was rude to a guest, refusing gracious assistance until tipped generously. They all need a cultural wakeup: Americans like a smile, will tip heartily when service is received. The room made me smile - imaginative & fresh. Would like a better light to read in bed, however. Location superb. Special pillows are offered; however, there was a waiting list! Might be better to have that comfy pillow waiting rather than make it a special request.
