Holiday Inn Express Tombstone, Tombstone

We just got home. We had an excellent experience. The general mangager, Connie, went out of her way to make our stay a good one. The room was comfortable, clean, and roomy. The staff was friendly and went the extra mile to accomodate our needs. The free breakfast was exceptional. They even offered us a brown bag to take food for a snack later in the day! They also gave us suggestions for places to go. One of which was Discovery Tours--we took extreme jeep ride to the top of China Peak---over 7,000 feet and 360 degree view. Wil Garland, the owner, gave us a memorable tour from the peak to ghost towns. We saw a part of Arizona --that we wouldn't have been able to see on our own. Holiday Inn in Tombstone, AZ--is a great hotel! I would go again. I have only good to say about my experience -- good, honest people---that take care of you like family.

We stayed in this hotel in late Feb. On return from our holidays we discovered an additional $150 charge on our Visa. When contacted, the hotel said it was a smoking charge. Neither my wife or I smoke. I contacted Visa requesting a charge back, however, since they include a notice on their registration, Visa would not act. Before you sign in, stroke out the right of the hotel to make this charge automatically. If you have stayed there, check your credit card statement to see if they did this to you.

We had a good stay, but left behind 2 items. We immediately called and talked to the desk who informed us that we had left 3 items not 2 and that they would be happy to send them COD. 8 weeks and numerous calls later, nothing. Called corporate headquarters and they talked to Holiday Inn Express in Tombstone and they claim to have never heard of us or or items. When I mentioned the name of the individual and conversations, corporate filed the information for future reference. Amazing how the items were described to me not once, but on 3 seperate occasions, yet now no one remembers. Tried to talk to the manager or owner, and they are very well shielded. I was told there was no reason to talk to either of them as the person I was talking to could help me as well if not better than they could. Needless to say, after 8 weeks we have given up on ever recovering our items. We the economy today you would think they would go out of their way to assist us. If we had known that we would never see our items again, we would have turned around and headed back the 1 hour drive and picked up the items ourselves, instead of taking the word of the front desk on sending us our items. Honesty and trust worthiness are not to be had at this Holiday Inn Express.

I would recommend this hotel if you're staying in the Tombstone area. It is a little bit away from downtown Tombstone, but clean and the pool is nice. They have a washer and dryer available to guests and complimentary breakfast is included.

The hotel is relatively new however they need good help--no elevators and the hallways are full of people who were drunk, rowdy and obscene. No one at the hotel could do anything to get them to quiet down--in fact we wre told to call the Sherrif's dept. I stayed here because it is new however their neighbour is Best Western with a great restaurant --we enjoyed that--we do not know if there rooms are any better however they have a beautiful garden and the wait staff told us that the rooms are absolutely newly renovated. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS HOLIDAY INN.

We went to go see the caves and stayed here. Beautiful pool, service, and location. You might have to drive a little to do things, but the drive is great. Definitly going back next year.

The staff is the first thing that everyone should be happy with! They are very accomodating and they are able to be problem solvers which makes the stay unsurpassed. Rooms are impeccable. This stay the hotel sported new linen and a choice of pillows for those who prefer to sleep on a hard or soft pillow. This is a great choice if you are part of a group as I am as their reservationsist are smart enough to decipher how you will save on yourlodging which makes us return their time after time... This place is our home away from home!

This was one of the worst travel experiences we have ever encountered. The place was loud, the mattresses were some of the worst I have ever slept on and our room was not serviced over a two day stay. I went to the front desk one night at 8:30 to register a complaint about a loud patron in the room above us and there was a sign on the lobby desk that read "out gettin drunk". As there were several guests in the lobby waiting for service, I can only assume the staff truly was out "gettin drunk". Save your money and try someplace else. Not recommended.

We stayed four nights and believe this to be an excellent hotel. True, it is quite a walk into Allen St, however we enjoyed our nightly drive back through the town to the hotel. If you don't want to drive into town for dinner, you can just walk next door to the restaurant at the Best Western which has a delicious menu and wine list. Our rooms were promptly cleaned each day, breakfast bar was clean and well stocked. The best thing is the (almost) constant playing of "Tombstone", the movie in the lobby. We would stay again even after seeing all the other hotels.
