Very Average Option at Turks
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/10
My girlfriend and I were fairly disappointed with The Turks and Caicos Club. Food was sub-par (breakfast very limited, bad cofffee, no fresh fruit). Hotel's award winning restaurant, Simba, apparently closed this Spring (we were not made aware prior to our arrival - no on-site evening dining option). Guests at the hotel noticed the limited staffing level at thee hotel during our stay - we all commented the the owner was trying to cut costs during the recession. Positives - small, intimate feel and proximity to great snorkeling reef. Under proper management/ownership, The Turks and Caicos Club could be a legitimate 4-5 star hotel (Currently it is a very average 3 star resort). There are numerous other properties on Provo Beach offering more value.

Do Your Homework
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/2/10
My wife and I had great expectations of The Turks and Caicos Club based on the mostly positive reviews from various sources, including Conde Naste Johansens. Here were some of our disappointments - 1. Food - Breakfast is very limited. No fruit offered. Yogurt not available two of the mornings we were at the property. Coffee is poor. The on-site restaurant evening restaurant, Simba, closed this spring so we were forced to eat elsewhere each evening. This fact needs to be better publicized for travelers considering different properties. 2. Value - Turks and Caicos Club does not match up to neighboring properties - facilities and food specifically. Both The Sands and Grace Bay were offering similar or lower nightly rates for two of remaining nights of our vacation - and each is much nicer than Turks and Caicos Club. No comparison between fitness centers at these two properties and Turks and Caicos Club. 3. Staffing - It was obvious that management has scaled back the staff at Turks and Caicos Club to the bare minimum - many guests made comments during the stay. Lastly, I thought it was obnoxious for each room's AC thermostat to have a lockbox control - especially considering what we paid to stay at Turks and Caicos Club. The janitor agreed to remove the lockbox from the thermostat on the condition we not tell the owner! Turks and Caicos Club has great potential if management is willing to address some of the expressed concerns. Currently, however, it deserves a very average 3-star rating.

Understated Luxury in Paradise
By Melva, 4/9/10
This resort is a hidden treasure in a sea of commonplace hotels: it is unassumingly small, the staff is gracious and efficient, and the suites are so comfortable, that you feel as though you have come home. The ideal element of the Turks and Caicos Club is its quiet refinement. It's low key and peaceful, without being inefficient and dull. The staff are on hand whenever you need them, but if one wishes to be left alone, to relax by the pool, enjoy the deck chairs, or simply "be", then one can do so. With the resort being so small, a visitor almost feels like the only guest, and this kind of feeling must be experience by the rich and famous; but at the Turks and Caicos Club, guests do feel that special. Since it is a few minutes away from the busiest part of Provo's hotel/condo area, it enjoys the pristine elements which privacy and serenity bring. Yet the attentive service mean that guests can avail themselves of any activities or tours that they may wish to take part in. My husband and I preferred a quieter, more independant holiday, so we tended toward more low-key activities, like lounging, hanging out at the beach, and cooking our own meals. The suites are perfect for this. However, the downstairs restaurant offers breakfast as well as lunch; while we did not eat lunch there, the included breakfast was a nice balance to cooking our own meals. Consider making your own dinner, or rent a car to get out for evening meals. Also, the island is very hot with little shade, so getting about by foot, except in early morning or late afternoon, would be difficult. We enjoyed the independence of having a car at our disposal, whenver we wanted - just like at home! We discovered tucked-away beaches and other gems at our own speed. This is truly the best hotel at which we've stayed, and we have visited many Caribbean islands. We were never approached to buy real estate (or anything else for that matter), but rather we felt like welcome family members. The owner herself meets witht the guests and is interested in their comfort and well being as would a gracious host. She is a lovely woman with a warm heart for people and animals alike; she won our hearts in her support of the local SPCA. How many resort owners do that! Turks and Caicos Club is an exceptional resort. It's not inexpensive in high season, but I strongly believe that you get what you pay for.

Totally Relaxing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/07
My wife and I went for 4 nights on the Romantic Escape package. Totally relaxing and probably the best beach of any Caribbean island. We stayed in a one bedroom oceanfront suite which was clean, spacious and nicely furnished and we enjoyed our mornings out on the balcony. Breakfast was included daily which was convenient and cost savings as the island is very expensive. If you want quiet, small hotel with a great, uncrowded beach and good food, this is your place.

Nice Hotel Great Beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/07
This is a nice small hotel where the staff treated us like family. Second trip to the island, first time staying at the Turks & Caicos Club. Probably the best beach of any hotel on Provo (least crowded.) Rooms are spacious. Breakfast was included which was a nice amenitity. We love to snorkel and the reef was right off the beach - no long walks with out gear (except when we went one day to Smiths reef.) You'll like this hotel if you like small and quiet.

Beautiful resort, beach, and more..
By Brian, 2/19/07
We spent a week at this hotel w/ our 3 year old son & my parents. It was a wonderful week and we would definitely consider coming back to Turks & Caico's Club in the future. Key thing about this resort.. it is a small, quiet, beautiful hotel. You are unlikely to find a roaring happy hour at the pool bar... So if you are looking for a quiet getaway, definitely consider this place Highlights - Very comfortable accommodations. Nice bedroom and very well equipped living area & kitchen. - Great proximity to "Bight reef" which has some of the best snorkeling on grace bay. We saw some pretty big loggerhead turtles, spotted eagle rays, barricudas, trumpet fish, and so much more. - Amazing view from the room; Could listen to the ocean all night. - Free breakfast was actually pretty good, ie french toast, fresh fruit, bacon, etc. - Very comfortable resort.. by the 3rd or 4th day, several of the staff knew who we were, what we liked, etc. - Location on Grace bay is west of most of the larger resorts.. so they were quite private Lowlights - Service at Simba was quite slow at times. We joked it was "island speed", but in fact it was slower than experienced elsewhere. Neutrals - 2 bedroom suites are all on the 3rd floor. - Read a couple of comments regarding the bathrooms. We found the bathrooms to be quite adequate, though nothing special. Considering the room rate, I would expect something a bit grander however. - I would recommend renting a car so you can come and go to other restaurants, grocery store, etc.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/23/06
I went springbreak of '05 with my friend. We were in eight grade and I absolutely enjoyed it. We're thinking of going back this spring break but we're not sure yet. If you're looking for a place to spend a romantic break or just getaway from life, go to this resort. The staff is friendly, the place is very clean and the enviornmant is super relaxing. I give it five stars and a huge recomendation.

Best location on Grace Bay Beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/12/05
My husband and I stayed last week (12/3/05-12/10/05) at the Turks & Caicos Club, a small hotel on Grace Bay Beach. The suites were spacious, the beach was fabulous and the staff was lovely. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. We will return because we don't like to stay in large condo complexes and it seems that's all that's left (or being built) on Grace Bay. This is a good quiet location.

Highly Recommend Turks & Caicos Club
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/31/05
Just returned from our third visit to Provo and stayed at the Turks & Caicos Club. We love this place because it's only 21 suites, beautiful quiet setting and great beach. It's a luxury hotel without all the fuss. The service was great (non-intrusive) and the restaurant Simba was excellent. Full breakfast is included in the rates. The island is getting very built up, and the Turks & Caicos Club remains very exclusive and nice. We will return soon.
