6 reviews for Inn at Dupont Circle, Washington
We loved our stay at this quaint inn!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/09/07
We couldn't have been more pleased, this was the ideal place to spend our vacation. The location was great and the inn was just what I was looking for...a quaint bed and breakfast. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff and owner made our stay as pleasant as possible, plus the food was fresh and delicious. We are definitely going back!

Great Value for $$$
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/16/06
I stayed for 3 nights at the Inn, and found the staff there to be wonderful at making me feel at home. For the person who complained - all I can say is that I don't WANT a B&B to be like a 5-star hotel. I want to stay in a place where I am made to feel more like family than a guest - and that's exactly what I got from the wonderful staff. The next time I am in Washington DC, I KNOW that I will be staying here again!

I hit the jackpot!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/05
My stay in DC was not as bad I thought it would be. It was my first time in the nation's capital and staying at the Inn at Dupont Circle was a stroke of luck for me. The location is great since its only a few steps from the metro. The bus stop for Georgetown was a few steps from the inn so it was really very convenient. The inn had the "homey" feel to it. Breakfast was buffet but they prepare your own special omelette. After one whole day of walking the sites of DC, you get home to some snacks too. I appreciate the tips they gave me how to enjoy the sights for almost nothing since it was my first time and was really on a budget. I plan to come back for the Cherry Blossoms festival and have already made my reservations!!! Thank you guys!

Feels like home

The Innkeepers were so attentive to our every need. The breakfast was delicious. The Inn is located 50 steps from the Metro and a short walk from the tourist attractions

What a wonderful find!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/14/05
We loved our stay at the Inn in the Garden Loft. All our friends at the WEFTEC conference were so jealous when we told them of our omelettes every morning and dessert waiting when we arrived each evening. This place is an absolute gem and we are so glad we found it. I can't imagine coming to DC again and NOT staying here! The location is great, convenient and the accommodations are lovely. We loved the heater at night...how romantic! Check out Ben and Jerry's across the street and the cinema for independent films. Also, don't miss the great shops around Dupont Circle.

Next time I'll look a little harder
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/04/05
We've stayed in over 50 B&B's, but I have never had the type of poor experience I had at this Inn. That's not to say this Inn is filthy and pathetic, but for a B&B, they appear very disorganized and, at least when we stayed, did not have their act together like a $220 a night B&B should. The Inn itself is acceptable, although it is obvious the attention to detail that we are accustomed to was not present there. If you can live with a few paint chips on the walls, and "Econo Lodge clean", then this won't be a problem for you. Also, if you can live with things advertised which are not reality, then you won't mind this either. The dinner wine we were suppose to receive, we were told "we don't do that anymore". Then, I needed to use the Internet, but the innkeeper didn't know how to access it. Parking was a problem as well. The Innkeeper gave me poor intruction on how to get my car parked in their garage ($15, I believe) then left the premises for the night, leaving me to figure it out myself. Almost an hour later, I was finally parked. The positives were the regular innkeeper (not present during our stay) was very helpful in accomodating us in our reservations, and went out of her way to take care of us before we arrived. Also, the location is great if you want to spend a day or two in DC. The front courtyard is small, but well decorated and a great place to people watch. Breakfast was buffet style, something I would never serve in a B&B, but what was served was fresh and very good. For the money we paid, and for the room and service we received, I didn't feel it was a good value. They have many good reviews on their website, so perhaps we managed to stay there when service was at it's worst? But then again, new ownership tends to create these types of issues. There was also an incident in which the owner showed a complete lack of integrity, and a lack of exactly how to run a service oriented business in dealing with paying customers, but that incident was probably isolated, and my rating represents my opinion before the incident at checkout. But I would like to add a little tip for the owner in the future: NEVER, EVER lie to your customers. When you make a mistake, admit it. The respect you keep will also keep you in business.
