Il Nido Hotel, Sorrento

Great hillside location with a million dollar view of Vesuvius. It's a ten minute ride by free hotel shuttle, to the center of Sorrento. Room was large, very clean, had a good bathroom, TV, safe. Staff speaks English and is very helpful. There'e also a very good restaurant on site. Breakfasts were the best we had in Italy. The rates can't be beat.

The two brothers are the perfect hosts. Friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfy with magical views. The food is wonderful and reasonable. Spend the day seeing the sights then return for a wonderful dinner overlooking the bay! It will save you a fortune. Everytime we return to Sorrento we stay here. They never dissapoint!

Il Nido is a fantastic hotel in the hills above Sorrento, with views to die for. Wonderful views of the Bay of Naples, Mt Vesuvius; lovely food - there is no need to eat in town. The hosts are friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean. There is a free shuttle bus to town and back several times a day. It was probably the best hotel we stayed at in Italy. Can't wait to go back.

Il Nido was one of my all time favorite hotels! The view of Naples at night is unforgettable! The hotel is outside of the hustle and bustle of the city through lemon groves and olive trees at the top of a mountain. You can see Mt. Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples as you eat wonderful food on the terrace. We loved the restaurant so much we ate all our dinners there. It is a family-run business of some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. We had a problem with a cheating cabdriver that wanted to charge us 750 Euros (over a $1000) instead of 105 Euros (about $170) for a trip from Naples when we had car trouble. The gentleman who runs the hotel helped us out of this terrible situation and even had the chef save some food for us for dinner since we arrived so late! Now that's service!

Il Nido is a fabulous hotel. The staff is very friendly and hospitable with a pretty good knowledge of English. The rooms are clean and spacious. We had a great time enjoying the view of the valley from the terrace. The food is also very enjoyable, and the heart of the city is a short walk away. The hotel also has a punctual shuttle service to the city and back. We really enjoyed ourselves at Il Nido. Two thumbs way up!
