Donner Lake is one of the most beautiful places on earth and if you want to experience it up close & personal, Loch Leven Lodge is the place to do it. Scenery, Scenery, Scenery! Right from your very own balcony the lake & surrounding mountains are larger than life!! You can watch lake goers boat, fish, & swim in the summer months and during the winter a frozen Donner supports ice skaters, ice hockey players, and people & pets just curious of how it feels to stand on a frozen lake. No matter what time of year, don't miss Donner's amazing sunsets, right from your own room! Staff members have always made our stay comfortable & worry free. During our last stay, the owners Steve & Ede were so welcoming & informative. They happily told us they were personally on site & available, if needed, 24 hours a day. The rooms are cozy, clean, and well equipped including a small kitchenette and dining area for those romantic evenings in or, for avoiding the higher cost of dining out. The addition of the newer fireplaces adds to the Loch Leven's rustic comforts. Outside your room, there are plenty of activities Donner Lake & Truckee have to offer but, if you don't feel like venturing out too far, try the Loch Leven hot tub. The temperature is always perfect & we usually end up meeting a friendly face or two.
