Hampton Inn Lacrosse/Onalaska, Onalaska

The good things about the hotel are the front desk personnel who are very nice, the beds, and the recliner in the room. On the bad side, the hallways reeked of smoke all week, and the smell seeped in through the bathroom vents. The noise level was horrendous - the people above us sounded like stomping elephants and made noise all night long. And, the breakfast food quality was awful - we only ate there once and then went out after that. The maid service was horrible - the bathroom tub and floor were gross (I finally cleaned it myself) and on the third day they didn't even show up to empty the trash. We had reservations for 2 weeks but cancelled the second week because of these things. Yes, the rooms are cheap because you are getting what you paid for - very little. The location is great, too. But I'd rather stay at the Marriott and get some sleep and not end up with a cold from all the smoke. As a Hilton Honors member, very disappointed with quality of hotel stay.

The Hampton Inn is a great choice. It's always friendly, clean, quiet, and very convienent. Compared to other hotels in the La Crosse area, it is better and cheaper.
