lets come to saigon vietnam
By LA NGỌC DUY [ 1 ], 11/15/06
Saigon is a sprawling urban jungle filled with some absolutely wonderous and unique sites. The Wats are surreal...like nothing you have seen before. The Palace grounds are beautiful, filled with the unique Viet culture. The prices are low for just about everything. The deluxe hotels amongst the best in the world. A tremendous travel value in cost and experience. The only caution you offer is to ignore the touts in the street, espoecially the tour/gem/shopping scammers. Just walk away. The same for the ladyboys. Insist the cabbie use the meter and use the subway, water buses or Skytrain as often as possible because traffic is often unbearable. This is a small inconvenience, however, for an overall outstanding travel experience.

Excellent hotel to relax in on your honeymoon!
By Kimbo, 01/07/06
We stayed overnight at the Duxton Hotel after a 7hr bus-trip from Phnom Penh and it was such a relief to find a quiet & relaxing place as the Duxton. The staff are highly professional - our porter kindly explained all the features of the room, attentive service which was not found in any other hotel during our 3 week stay in Vietnam. The room was a good size with large windows overlooking the city. It was very clean & modern yet with a hint of Asian. There was cable TV & mini-fridge as can be expected. Breakfast was buffet-style & quite delicious. My husband was not well during this time & the Duxton kindly allowed us a late checkout at 2pm at no extra cost. Location is also excellent, with a 5-10min walk to the Ben Thanh markets. Overall the Duxton was an excellent place to stay at, although it was a bit expensive at $88US for Vietnam standards.

Good location good price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/11/05
So close to the city center. The rooms are big and nice. Some of them may be noisy, but this is often the case in Vietnam. Only thing missing : a swimming pool. Price is attractive
