Disgusting and not a Best Western hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/27/09
We just returned from a week in Cancun. Upon arrival we noticed that nowhere was there a sign indicating this was a Best Western. We were told by the desk clerk that this hotel is not affiliated with Best Western and we knew we had been scammed. The desk clerk wouldn't give us our room keys until we listened to a talk on buying a timeshare. There was bags of garbage in the halls, the rooms were disgusting and the bathroom ceilings were covered with mold. We immediately left and were forced to find another hotel thereby losing our 7 day fully paid reservation for 2 rooms.

Stay here every year
By Elizabeth P, 3/18/08
We love the Clipper Club! It's within walking distance to shopping, dining and bars. It's kind-of hidden between TGI Friday's and La Fiesta. We have stayed there the past 10 years and we wouldn't go anyplace else! There is a restaurant on-site..great food, by the way. You can also get a massage there that you will remember for a long time. I get my hair braided into corn-rows for vacation and I usually have anywhere from 75 to 100 braids and it's only $25.00 US. We are members, so we get 20% off food and drinks, plus the discount is good at the beauty salon, also. It's not a fancy hotel, but we are hardly ever there. It's got a shower and a bed..that's all you need!

Musty smelling
By Danna, 7/7/07
We traded our timeshare through RCI. The units were good size. However, when we entered the unit, it smelled like it had been locked up for months. It smelled like a hundred musty towels. The refrigerator had been turned off and when we opened it, it emitted a nauseating smell. We didn't use the kitchen facilities, even though we planned on doing so. We had to eat every meal outside of the hotel. The light fixture over the table had part of a glass panel broken out, exposing glass edges. There was dust and dirt hanging on the stucco walls and ceilings. The staff was friendly, the grounds were kept immaculate, but I think I will opt for an all-inclusive our next visit.

can't be beat.
The rooms are right on the pool! The grounds are maticuliously kept! Maid service varries but whos spending the day in their room? Front desk avail 24 hrs, coin laundry, sm. store. Fishig charter at their privete dock. (very reasonable) capt. will clean fish and Ray's will prepare your catch for dirt cheep! Don't be thinking your going to a 5 star resort, It's a 2.5 or 3 in my book but it's so quaint, clean, friendly, quiet and well located for the dollar that it's well worth it. They do have time shares but don't make a push at you in my experiance from staying there. I have stayed there four or five times. the kitchen is minamally stock with utensils. We take a cab to sams club / wallmart load up on things for the week and relax and enjoy.

will not go again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/10/06
The maid service was terrible, I have since seen better bargains in nicer hotels. There is no entertainment at the hotel except for Sunday night buffet. We used their Travel service located in the lobby , going on 2 bus trips. The one was late in leaving and we were told we could come back early from xcaret if it was too long a day, but there was only one return trip and that was at 9:00 but it didnt leave till 10:00. The bus trip to Chicanitza was long and then the bus ran out of gas.. Good luck to anyone who goes there.
