Beautiful Island, Great Resort
We stayed at the Fiesta in September '04 - just in time for Huricaine Ivan. We absolutely loved Cozumel and the Fiesta. The beach leaves a bit to be desired as it is man-made. The snorkeling right off the resort is amazing - it's like diving into an underwater jewelry box! While choices were limited in food ( we went all-inclusive) as the nice dinner restaurant was being revamped, it was always good. Not gourmet, but fresh and flavorful. The service was always great - don't know where the people who complain have been staying. A little courtesy goes a long way. Our room was always clean, the hotel was always clean, and the whole staf was very friendly. When it came time to batten down the hatches to wait out the hurricaine, they didn't panic. Some of the people that worked there did'nt go home for 36 hours or more - just to make sure the guest were well cared for. we helped pack up the gift shop and move things in as we could'nt leave for safety reasons - help they were glad to have, and we were kind of restless. We're from California and this was our first hurricaine. While I hope never to go thru that again, The people were great! We would go back in a heartbeat. Just not in hurricaine season...
