Would Never Stay at the Condes Again

One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. For over $600 a day, we had a barren and minimalist room with a shag rug that looked like a K-Mart special. There was no clock and a hard to use television. There was no privacy with a floor to ceiling glass wall overlooking a populated courtyard. The electric screen shade had to be fully closed in the daytime for privacy. The lighting was substandard and very dim and there was no light at the desk area. The small balcony was dirty had a door that locked from the inside. Anyone closing it on the balcony would be trapped if no one else was in the room. They charged 4 euros for ice in the room. There was very little privacy or noise abatement in the bathroom. A glass opaque wall trim behind the bed and swinging glass door allowed the bathroom light to flood the bedroom . The bathroom slate floor was noisy and slippery. There was only one bar of soap, no washcloth, a broken sink drain and unreachable toilet paper that fell off the open spool with each use. The hall fire escape staircase door was locked. The elevators were small, hot and slow. It took hours for our luggage to get to the room. The reception area was small and the staff was aloof. The only thing this hotel has going for it is location, but for the price charged any other hotel would be better.
