I might stay again if.
By Jim, 8/22/11
It is close to the Edward Jones Dome and sights are within walking distance if your young. The room that I was in was Dinkie and the TV's locale channels didn't come in very well and the remote didn't work until the maintenance man came in the reset it. And Parking is to expensive in the garage I think the Hotel should give Hotel guest a pass so it doesn't cut in to their expense for the weekend. Also what about a free breakfast you no coffee, juice, donuts, rolls or maybe eggs and waffles. Something so we didn't have to pay an arm and a leg at Shulas. I also showed my Debit card to the clerk but I didn't know what it was for please let me Know.

Run for your life!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/21/11
We had reservations... but it didn't matter!! The only person working couldn't let us in our room and could not reach a manager! And we were not the only ones turned away - we were one of three.

Understaffed and Oversold
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/29/10
We recently stayed at the Mayfair on a weekend. While the hotel facilities are OK, aside from the small elevators, the hotel is very understaffed. Both encounters with the front desk there was only one person working and she had to answer the phone on top of helping guests. There is no parking and had to park on the street. This is an uncomfortable feeling in downtown St. Louis. For the price there are other St. Louis hotels with more amenities and parking.

not please
By Scott, 12/12/08
They were doing work on the hotel when I was there. We had to park in another hotels parking garage which was expensive. There was one young man who was extremely nice. He was the only one!! The rest of the staff didn't seem to friendly. We probably came at a bad time because of the construction that was going on but I probably won't sta there again. The food was nothing to brag about. I just didn't feel I got a good value for the money I spent.

A Complete Debacle the Very Worst Hotel
By David, 10/8/08
I planned a 3 day regional meeting here for 12 people and it was a nightmare from the beginning. The reservations were screwed up, the hotel was not clean; the meeting room was a joke with the internet and phone not functional. Then to cap things off this hotel billed me the wrong amounts for every room. Once we got the room rates straightened out I had to wait and remind them several times to charge me for the meeting room. I was finally given a bill for the meeting room and food but, you guessed it, when I looked at my credit card statement it was $1200 more than the bill given to me. This hotel brings a whole new meaning to the word incompetence. Do not stay at this hotel. It is the worst hotel ever. You have been warned.

I did'nt want to leave!!
By Lisa Lovely, 7/23/08
Recently the 48th Session of the General Conference of the AME Church was held in Missouri and most if not all of the delegates and observes for the conference stayed at the hotel. The first time i walked in the hotel i was astounded. the place really looked historic all it wanted was ghost to go with it...lol but anyway. we checked in and headed off to our room. comfortable bed, convenient coffee maker, cable tv all these things greeted me when i walked in. In all i had a great time, the food was good the service was good, i would recommend this hotel anytime i travel to st.louis again. Thanks for the memories and the service.

BEWARE!!!!
By K A, 1/7/08
I stayed at the Roberts Mayfair in August 2007, it looked like a great place online. Not Quite. Parking was AWFUL!! The entire floor we were on was under construction, there were black marks over all the walls. The room which we were given was nasty, the room smelled of mildew and there was mold on the floors, and in the tiles of the bathroom. The carpeting by the doorway was wet. We left the tag out for our room to be serviced, and housekeeping never came. Our last day there, we called down for towels and it literally took over an hour for any to arrive. Service was absolutely horrible, and the people were unfriendly. I asked for a manager to call me, left numerous messages, and the calls were never returned. We were considerably overcharged on my credit card which took forever to correct, and I had to get in contact with the customer service over the all the Wyndhams. And now suddenly, in December, they have charged my card AGAIN, while I was in Dallas, TX. They said they would correct it, but have yet to do so. They try to say it will take 5 to 10 business days to correct, however the Wyndham in Dallas adjusted my account and the credit to the card went through the same day as the charge. I am reporting them for credit card fraud, and may even try to sue for bank charges that I will be incurring for having to shut my card off and obtain another card. The Wyndham should be ashamed of even being affiliated with the Roberts Mayfair!!! This hotel is the worst of the worst. It should be shut down. I would suggest a Motel 6 or Super 8 before this place!!!

Great Hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/30/07
This is the coolest older hotel i have ever been to! It was just recently renovated in Spring of 07, and it had a great rooftop pool that the kids loved. Harry Truman and Ulises Grant even stayed there in the forties and fifties. Will definitely go back again

WONT STAY ANYWHERE ELSE!
By Brian, 6/12/07
This hotel ROCKS! We stumbled across it by accident and now refuse to stay anywhere else. The newly renovated rooms have flat screen TVs and super comfortable beds. I've never had a single problem with any of my stays...and I've been there at least a dozen times. I would reccommend it to anyone who doesnt mind paying a bit more for a nice quiet stay. No kids running down the halls all hours of the night! No loud parties next door! No problems!
