Beautiful service and location
By Quaid, 3/23/12
I loved the service and the location was amazing. Everything ran so smoothly, and made or stay perfect. They made sure all was accommodated to us, and non of that usual hotel issues arose. Overall amazing stay, will stay again!

Pretty good deal
By xhead, 3/23/12
The manager, Dilip, is just the coolest and helped us during our entire stay. Cheaper than competing nearby motels.

A true beach hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/8/11
My girlfriend and I stayed at the seaside inn for three nights. I read many reviews about the hotel (that were not good) before making reservations.Upon arrival, we found the Inn had that rustic beach charm. The staff was very nice and walked us to our room. The grounds were beautiful and the sounds from the ocean were very relaxing. The room was nice and clean, with great front patio. Im writing this review, not to warn people but to keep an open mind. If your looking for a 5 star resort, this place isnt for you. If you like spending 200+ a night just to sleep in a bed, then stay in the 5 star resort. As for me and my girlfried, we loved the place and we will stay again. P.S. Thanks Dillip, Great breakfast! Scott and Janice 7/1/11

worst hotel stay ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/11
Dont be fooled by their misleading website it is complete B.S The manager onsite is rude, lies about the ammenities and has no idea of how customer service works, at least in this country. The was spa is broken, the HBO advertised dosent exist. The rooms look like a tweeker motel complete with cigarette burns in the tables and tv, In our bathroom there was a 5x5 drywall patch that was just patched and not painted. The patch has been left unfinished for so long the drywall mud is falling off the wall,(Im sure this makes for great indoor air quality) not to mention white dust on the sink and floor. The shower leaked onto the floor there were no screens on the windows and the a/c did not work. The balcony chairs and table were shabby cheap plastic that broke when I sat in it. The property is littered with severial old broken refrigorators, a/c units and water heaters just sitting there rusting for all to see (who knows maybe some concider trash to be decor). The whole place looks run down, paint is peeling holes in the carport roof, I even spotted termite damage on some of the facia wood in short the place is a dump. My wife found the hotel on line and liked the quaint old style charm advertised on line but when you arrive you will find that there is no charm left. We were completely unhappy and are agressively persuing the management for a refund. So far the same stall tactics used by the management are again being used as I havent gotten any feed back from management or the owner. Its ok though when I report this dump to the local agencies it will probably be deemed uninhabbitable and condemed anyway. The only positive is the location you can't complain about the sand and water being 50 yards away.

Good thing we like to laugh, this place is a joke!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/27/10
Am I stupid or what...I didn't read reviews on this place, just looked at the on-line pictures and figured how bad could it be in Dana Point. WRONG, it can be that bad. This place is a DUMP! And we would not have stayed there if we had found bugs or lice in the place, which we did look for extensively!!! It was only for one night so we could be near the Coach House for a concert and be able to take a taxi and party, otherwise we would have been gone in 60 seconds!! The owners were just short of very rude, the upstairs "suite" had dirty brown shag carpeting full of sand and wet and musty. The curtains barely covered any of the windows and the metal mini blinds were all bent up and unusable. My balcony was filthy and the furniture was rusty and falling apart. My bathroom had just been recently redone (shower, sink, toilet and floor) so another reason we decided not to fight with the owners for a refund and stayed. The T.V. was about a 13 inch and yes there was no HBO like their website stated. All in all the place was a wreck in need of tearing down and starting over. A few years back it might have been able to be saved - but its beyond now. Be careful of the covered parking too - if you stay upstairs you'll see what shape the roof is in and the next morning after the evening breeze there were pieces of it laying all over. Have you read enough?! Because I could go on and on about this place. Oh and at 7:30 AM on a Sunday the weed eater started up right under our window, the funny thing is there was no grass to speak of and the rest of the plantlife, etc was a wreck...so what was the gardner there for on a week end in the morning, whatever he really does I'm sure could have waited!!! It was right across from the beach with a great view and access, but believe me there are three or four other really nice places right down the walk way that I'm sure are not much more than this place and worth it!

A Diamond in the RUFF!!!
By Yvonne, 6/8/10
If you want an experience true to beach life then this is the place to stay! It is right across HWY 1 (PCH) you can hear the ocean waves hit the beach and see it from your porch. We stayed on the bottom floor the room was super cool, now it is not for someone use to a resort type of hotel it is a beach haven and it is very eccentric, has huge personality. The continental breakfast was one of the best we have had. The grounds were so intriguing and we enjoyed all the plants and flowers, everything from birds of paradise to banana palms and jade. I would recommend this place to anyone, as long as they are open minded and ready for a real beach experience. There was a really nice fireplace in the room, and the room was clean and the towels were big giant super soft, the shower had great output and pressure, which we all know is a big deal LOL our room had a refrigerator and a microwave. The TV got all the stations you could hope for and all the personnel we encountered were very nice and accommodating. We are heading back there for 3 days in a month!! This place was just super cool and had a lot of character and personality it is a place for adventure. If you are someone that needs the Hilton then move on and save the diamond in the ruff for the rest of us that appreciate real beauty!! Try it out, have an open mind and enjoy the beach!! Bring some fire starter logs or you can purchase them at the office too!! A glass of wine on the porch listening to the waves roll in. We loved it!!

Worse place I've ever been....
By PegW, 8/31/09
The place was seedy and falling down, nasty dirty and nothing like the pictures! Rusty furniture on what they call a terrace.....no one in their right mind would pay $99 a night or more to stay there! Do yourself a favor and pass this one right on by and go to the Best Western (which was wonderful!)

Cheezy Motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/14/09
I've stayed in "Cheezy" Motels, but this place takes the cake.. The train pass every 45 minutes, it reminded me of an I Love Lucy episode. Its not worth $$. It's DREADFUL!! They need to knock it down & rebuild.

Please for the love of GOD don't stay here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/17/09
I wish I had read the reviews before I booked the room, but it was a last minute thing and I was getting desperate. My boyfriend and I were going down to Dana Point for Valentines weekend getaway, and when we arrived at the Capistrano Seaside Inn, we pulled in the driveway, and I immediately regretted having wasted $165 on this dump. The buildings are in BAD need of renovation and remodeling, it looks dingy and run down. We waited in the main office for 10 minutes before anyone showed up to check us in (the main office smelled SO bad). We got to our room, after not being shown where it was and wandering around a bit, and I couldn't believe how dirty the carpet was, how old and dingy the couch was (we had an upstairs "suite"), how small the TV was, and how disgusting the bathroom was. The fireplace was nice, but there was nothing to light it with. There was NO HBO, as the website said there would be. There was no heater, and one of the bedroom windows was propped open by an AC unit, needless to say we were freezing all night. The blanket on the bed had cigarette burn holes all over it; I half expected it to be covered in bugs, too. It's the kind of place you expect to see cockroaches in, and we paid a whopping $165 for a terrible experience. I didn't mind the trains going by all night so much, but if you don't sleep like a like I do, you'll have issues. The "complimentary continental breakfast" in the morning consisted of boxed cereal, milk in a bucket of ice, old fruit, and pastries you could buy at a gas station. DON'T STAY HERE! I'M BEGGING YOU!
