Nice access to Zion

The toiletries were fancy and of high quality. The bed was great. Very easy access to Zion from here.

...A place so nice, my wife made me book again
By ,
I had stayed at Flanigans in my youth (93'-94') and let me tell you, what a difference.First of all...location. STUNNING! The nicest part was the beautiful little room. It (115) is half of a free-standing cabin. We were later told that it was the only room with a beautiful fireplace. Being February, it was welcome at night. But we also had a nice sofa and chair. Nice for snuggling by the fire. The room had a flat screen TV w/DVD player. They have a nice selection of DVD's to borrow up front, no charge. NICE! The bed was a king size, and honestly the nicest I had ever slept on in a hotel. The separate area fir the bathroom sink had nice Oriental style sliding doors (for a little privacy. Also a microwave, small fridge and coffee maker (all working). Just make sure you get everything taken care of by 8pm their time. The switchboard and office close (we weren't given the codes for the wi-fi, so we couldn't check our e-mails till morning). Make sure you get them at check-in. Other than this, we are going back next week. The weather in Feb. is just nice enough and NO crowds! Just peace and quiet at night. Wonderful property. Next time try this place with a lot of personality over the cookie cutter motels (Best Western, Super 8) You won't be sorry!

Nice place but watch out for Maids with attitudes
By ,
The place is a beautiful motel within a short distance from the park, it was well kept outside. But the Maids have an attitude. It is not what I expected from such a place. I understand we all have our days, but to complain about a guest while other guest can hear you in the front lobby. Breakfast was ok for the price. Food sat out buffet style for a little to long became crusty. Dinner was just fair to ok, everyone said they were the best in town?? Well we didnt think so. Rooms were nice and big. Wish they had Wi Fi working in the rooms would have been nice. They did have a computer in lobby but only available until 10pm. The scenic views are breath taking and that made up for all the others things.......go back??? have to think about it.

Major issues - Very disappointed
By ,
I was so excited to stay at Flanigan's since I had been there a number of years ago and had eaten at the Spotted dog cafe and loved the experience. So i recommend to my family that we stay there for our upcoming trip to Zion. The rooms had obviously been redecorated and they seemed very nice. I had two major issues that are forcing me to write this review: 1. The phones didn't work. Apparently the switch board had a broken part and we couldn't call room to room. There was no notice about this from the staff. No alert, no waring, nothing. We were left to discover this on our own. 2. On my 3rd morning there I got up for a hike with my uncle at 9am. I got up at 8am to get ready and went into the bathroom and closed the door behind me. I heard the door knob make and bad noise (ping thunk). I immediately turn the knob to get out to find that it would turn but not open. I tried and tried but couldn't get the door to open. I started yelling for help...no answer. I missed my uncle and my hike. After 2 hours of yelling screaming and a little bit of panic. my father came to check on me and get me for breakfast and heard me yelling in the bathroom. The walls in my room were so sound proof that even though I was yelling at the top of my lungs he could barely hear me and thought that I was hurt in the bathroom. He immediately got help. A maintenance man can and brought me a screw driver and helped me escape from my bathroom. 2 hours locked in a bathroom is not a fun experience (also the bathroom was very small). I received no apology from the staff, no concern from the management as to my well being. No compensation for the horrible ordeal and the lost vacation time nothing. To make matters worse I felt like the staff found my situation funny, which was extremely insulting. Accidents happen but the hotel industry is a service one and I should of been taken care of better. I would not recommend this establishment to anybody.

Halfway decent
By ,
I liked the location. Just 3 minute drive to the Zion gate. I stayed in room 103 which had no view and just a plain old "Motel 8" type room. It was an old, tired, sad room with mold growing in the bathroom tiles. Carpet, mattress, TV, among others, require refurnishings. The restaurant Spotted Dog on the premise was great. If you stay in the more delux rooms, things may have been different. For the price, definitely not worth the stay.

A very pleasant surprise!!
By ,
Being an east coast person, I was taken aback by the serenity of the place. The room was spacious, well decorated, and had a true calming affect after a day of hiking through Zion. My Fiance' took advantage of the Spa and was very complimetary of the staff. The pool area is both small and private. The hot tub came in handy after our Angel's Landing climb. There's a shuttle that stops right outside to take you either to the Park or into the Village. If and when we ever make it back there, the plan is to stay there again. It's fair to say that I highly recommend Flanigan's.

Terrific lodging experience
By ,
Zion National Park was one of our destination stops on a short Southwest roadtrip in June of 2007. No only has Zion become one of our favorite National Parks, Flanigan's Inn will be our first choice in lodging while visiting there. We stayed in the King Spa room, which was large, modern, clean, and included a jacuzzi tub! The staff was very accomodating and the location can't be beat - close to the park's entrance and local shopping and resturants. Nestled beneath the towering sandstone mountains, the views are spectacular! We were in heaven! The inn also has excellent spa services that came in handy after a long day of hiking through the canyon. Don't miss a meal at the Spotted Dog, where you will find good food, friendly staff and more beautiful views from the outdoor dining area. I have traveled extensively through the Western US National Parks system and have not found better lodging at such an affordable price. We can't wait to return!

Don't get a rollaway!
By ,
Our room was dark. There were three of us so we asked for a rollaway bed; in good hotels, these are often quite adequate. It was so uncomfortable that we pulled cushions off the sofa in the room to put under the mattress. When we complained we were told that they are really meant for children (as if children don't need comfort and a good night's sleep). Very convenient to Zion Canyon, excellent massages, lovely dinner in the Spotted Dog cafe and even a decent wine list.

Beautiful room, grounds, and views. Great resteraunt, great food. Very close to Zion National Park, and an outfitter shop right next door.
