Apple Inn, Nebraska City

The apple inn was tore down and is now a Walgreens.

The old Apple Inn is a poor place to plan to stay, no service, dirt everwhere the day I was there, location is still great, unless you are planning to camp out - I don't think value is much to brag about either. The last time I was I was in Nebraska City, I discovered the Appe Inn is gone. The locals tell me that in the spring of 2009, work will begin on a new Walgreens Drug store. The Embers Steak House was still in business, but I wonder how long it will be there. The Apple Inn had a lo of history, I remember years ago when it was known as Stephen's Motel. The motel at the corner of 11th street and 5th Corso is now gone for ever. Just thought some of you that commented that you would stay there again the next time you were in the area,might like to know - you now have to find another place to stay in Nebraska City. This place was really, really clean & beats out all the chain hotels in Nebraska City. Pool area clean, too. Don't hesitate to stay here, it was much better than the chains!

This place made our weekend very special. Great location to walk around, close to resturaunts and a gas station. We had a great time. Very quaint, nothing fancy, but that makes these places very special. Just a little weekend get-a-way place. I loved it! Next year same place!

We have stayed there several times, and it's always been a pleasant experience. The help is always cheerful and helpful. We have been there both for family reunions and car shows, and they have always been very helpful about telling us about the area. Just wish that there was more to do in the town.

It was a good value for the money. The pool was brand new and the ground was well taken care of. The steak house next door also has good prime rib.
