completely awful!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/7/11
This place is not as it seems online! My wife and I ate at the restaurant Phillips and ordered our usual clam bake for 2 bucket and had literally 7 shrimps and just such small portions of everything that it should have. We complained to the restaurant manager about the food and his response was they needed to make profit! Profit? I wasn't trying to renovate my house I was just trying to have dinner with my wife! My wife ordered a gingerale and was given water down gingerale, when we complain to the waiter about this his response was he hadn't changed the filter! The service was awful! The front desk staff were so unprofessional they gave me the impression that they hire anybody to work for them! I will NEVER spend a dime again at this place!

This was the worst hotel I have stayed in
By Ashley, 5/29/09
I stayed at this hotel with a coworker while on a business trip and had found this hotel online. In person, the hotel is not as nice as it appears online and I was very disappointed. My coworker had a horrible smell in her room and so she switched to another room. The staff said they knew about the smell in her room, but had still put her in it. In my room, I'm not sure what caused my allergies to stir up so badly at night, but I did not sleep at all. As soon as I was out of my room, those allergies cleared up, so I'm not sure what it was. Also, the elevator kept breaking down, and the restaurant in the hotel was not any better. I will never return to this hotel and I would not recommend it to anyone else.

Very Nice Elegant Hotel
By Mark, 12/18/08
This is a charming little hotel right on Rockville Pike. The decor and furnishings are first rate. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are nicely decorated. The staff is very attentive and accomodating. We highly recommend the Legacy. A little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.

Nice
By Kristin, 7/9/08
My only complaint is the shower curtains. My mother slipped and fell in the shower because the plastic shower liners are too long for the shower. It causes them to hang into the shower about 2 inchesand there are no slip mats. She fell and hit her head, arm, shoulder, and hip. I called down to the front desk to complain and ended up getting the manager involved because I was told there was nothing they could do for us. The manager said she was filling out an accident report. The only thing she did was send someone up with sisscors to cut the bottom off the curtain. Not once during the rest of our stay was my mother called and checked on. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms were nice and clean. The hotel is in a good location.

Shockingly awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/07
If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would. We came to town for my niece’s wedding. In advance, we reserved a crib for our 9 month old. At check in, we were told they’d send one up. An hour later, we called down and were told they’d run out. The desk clerk refused to help us find another hotel in the area. By 2 AM, after numerous phone calls, we gave up and went to sleep, taking turns holding the baby. We slept poorly. The following morning, they brought us a broken crib. As we left for the wedding, we were promised a new one was being sent up. During the wedding, other family members staying at the hotel reported: carpets were soaking wet, sink drains weren’t working, staff was unresponsive, several guests were kept awake by noise, one person’s breakfast menu had been filled out by a previous guest, the hotel restaurant food was cold and the service disorganized (also our experience). When we returned from the wedding, I put my hand on the side of the new crib, and the whole thing collapsed inward. We checked out at 11 PM, and the hotel tried to charge us in full for both nights, saying that we could drive 25 minutes back in the morning to dispute the charges with the manager. The manager was eventually reached by phone and did waive the charges. The price difference at our new hotel is 20.00/night… BEST $40.00 I've ever spent.

Wonderful Hotel/Great Restaurant
By Mark, 11/1/06
From the minute you walk into the lobby you know this is someplace special. The front desk staff was the most cheerful I have ever encountered. I stay in hotels several nights a week and this staff compares to many 5 star hotels I have stayed in. It was raining as I was departing for dinner and to my amazement, a front desk clerk followed me outside to hand me an umbrella, what a gesture, this hotel really cares. Their restaurant is superb. Probably the best crab cake I have ever been served. So good, I had a half dozen shipped to my home. Room was spotless and what a comfortable bed, similar to Westin Hotels, but in a Ramada. What a value and what a hotel. They are in the middle of a very busy and happening area, pleanty of shopping, restaurants and nightlife. They are a "10" in my book!

Gives you a feel of a motel ...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/19/06
this is an average place to go, with reasonable pricing for the D.C area. The area is o.k. and very save. The (hispanic) hotel staff is doing its job. Parking in the garage means you have to up the 5th floor everytime. I have not seen the gym and not used the Internet access as it should be disappointing. The rooms are all right, the bed was well used, but altogether I can say you can book it. The metro stop is a block away, yet walkable.

Wonderful Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/8/05
I loved the front desk staff, very helpful and accomodating. The internet service in my room was the fastest I have ever used. Even better than my home cable internet. Had a great steak and glass of wine in their restaurant. Will definately return when I go back to the Rockville/Bethesda area.

Disappointing - not a business hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/05
I needed to go to a conference in Bethesda and needed a hotel within a reasonable distance. I found this hotel via Yahoo maps and went to their website. I ended up booking the place based on its location to the Metro, dataport service in the rooms and the fitness facilities. My requirements would be different if on vacation but as a business traveler, I was mostly concerned with getting to the conference on time and being able to check in at work. The location was perfect for me since it was 2 blocks from the Twinbrook station and proximity was appreciated in the 90+ degree heat. It’s located on a busy street but I didn’t have a problem with noise since I was facing the parking lot, off streetside. It looked like your run of the mill Ramada Inn, though a bit on the shabby side of what I expected. The dataport service that was advertised on their website was a total fabrication. For internet access in my room, I would have to dial long distance to my personal ISP. Why should it be a requirement that I have dialup at home in order to get service at this hotel? I don’t even know what the number would be since I don’t use dial up at home. Of course, you’d also have to pay the long distance charges, which are usually astronomical at hotels. They did have wireless in the lobby but I didn’t want to have to work in their lobby and that doesn’t excuse the fact they falsely advertised. Providing a phone line does not constitute providing internet access. At other hotels, in-room service means that you can have unlimited access by tapping into their service at some daily charge. If I had known this I absolutely wouldn’t have booked this hotel. It didn’t help that I found the staff kind of surly and less than helpful when first asking for directions on how to get “access”. Their “gym” was basically a regular hotel room with a combination of weightlifting stations, a treadmill, stairmaster and stationary bike. The treadmill and stairmaster were broken while one of the weightlifting stations was jammed so that you had to lift 100 pounds. So, about half the equipment was unusable. There were other little things that added to the disappointment. I didn’t appreciate that they seemed to clean the bathroom floor by dousing it with water. I unknowingly walked in at about 8:30pm to have my socks soaked by the still wet floor. And the fridge was barely cold and the iron didn’t get hot. Small things, for sure, but they give a sense of the overall quality of the place – subpar. Everything about the place was a disappointment and their website misleads to make you think they have good amenities. Even though it wasn’t very expensive, I left feeling ripped off.
