Little gem of a heritage house hotel!
We were booked for one night, but ended up staying two nights. I had tried to prebook one particular room that had been pictured on the internet, but although they promised it to me, it was gone by the time I arrived. however, they gave a choice of rooms and the one that we took was at the top of the building with balconies and even a separate room for washing clothes. This room could also be made into a kitchen for long stay guests.
The marble flooring is immaculate as this suite is newly built. It has aircon and should have more fans, but one had been removed and one was not working. this made it a bit hot in June.
The open roof top restauarant is fine and their prices are very good. About £1.55 for a veg thali which I couldnt finish. No alcohol licence, but soft drinks are about 25p. Breakfast is about £1.25
No tea or coffee facilities in the room.
With this place, you get more than you pay for. It even has a swimming pool. It is very inexpensive and if you are on a tight budget, this may be just what you are looking for if you want to have something that feels a bit more special. Not all the rooms are good and we did stay in the most expensive suite at 1800 rps per night. About £22.50. They have cheaper rooms... Even if you arent on a tight budget, it is still worth going here as we also stayed in places costing twice as much thinking that they would be twice as good and found that they were 10 times worse than here. Unlike other places that seem to want to fleece tourists, this still seems to have a friendly family feel. It is a welcome contrast to many other ripping off tourist traps.
Jaipur is hot and smelly and noisy in summer but this place is on a back street and proved a welcome haven. The adjacent building is due to be renovated though, and I dont know whether that will have an impact
