Park Inn by Radisson Pribaltiyskaya, St. Petersburg

Apart from the fact the hotel is miles away from the city and is NOT an "easy 10 minute walk" to the nearest metro station, the staff are rude and unbelievably work shy. It is an inconvenience for them to end their conversations amongst themselves to offer the absolute minimum of service. The hotel rooms are ok but at no point are you given any information about services and locations within the hotel so be prepared to ask at the reception every 5 minutes if you have a simple question. The shuttle bus departs late and leaves you stranded if its full with nothing more than a shrug of the shoulders. The attitude of "not my problem" is the motto of this "4 star" hotel. Take my advice, pay a little bit more and stay elsewhere. This place is not worth it one bit.

At Hotel Pribaltiskaya you have everything you could want.It has excellent facilities including 2 nightclubs, numerous bars, a bowling alley, pool, sauna and spa which are all included in the price. There are about 7 shops with everything you may need from essentials to great souvenirs. Also an excellent facility which could be used in the near future is a huge water parkwhich will be finished shortly. The staff are friendly and make you feel at home in this 15 floor hotel. Everywhere you look it is all emmaculately clean and everywhere is light and airy accept for some of the rooms! Overall I had a wonderful week as did my mates enjoying the enviroment of the hotel and of course the beautiful city itself!

We stayed here as part of an escorted tour group the first week in July 2005. Since we were bussed everywhere the location was wonderful, we could see the Gulf of Finland from our large, clean room. Staff was friendly. The elevators were roomy and worked like a well-oiled machine. Meals, specially breakfast, were tasty with lots to offer.

This hotel was booked as part of a tour package. Looks very impressive when you are in the foyer, and the rooms are ok. The front foyer staff are not too bad.. find it impressive that they can speak multiple languages. The biggest issue I had however was trying to get into the hall for breakfast. This place has 2 halls catering for differnt guests (expensive hall and budget hall) I had my stamp incorrectly stamped for the expensive hall, and they would not let me in to the cheaper hall, even though our russki guide verified who I was. man... what a scene. So off I go and have a 5 star breakfast for budget price by myself. This place has nice views of the gulf of finland and the surrounds I found not too bad either. I have read many reviews from westerners who seem to expect everything to be the same as america, australia, GB etc. Russia is not, so dont expect it, but that said, I was still disappointed with much of the service. I believe there would be better places to stay in St Petersburg.

If you want to stay in an area that is not near St. Petersburg attractions and have the worst service of all, then this hotel is for you. This is the worst dump I have ever stayed in. However, just around the corner is a liquor store, you can buy some cheap vodka and the nasty rooms will turn to a blurr. The staff is nasty as well. There is a trio of women who work the front desk, they can be better known as the Sisters' Grimm. They don't speak much English so don't expect much. Don't even try to exchange money...use the cash machine across from them!

The buffet is nasty as well, what you don't eat for dinner will show up at the buffet, so be warned! Also, they will try to sell you all kinds of things as you are trying to eat.

Again this is the dumpiest of dumps in Russia. Trust me there are better hotels in Russia, I was blown away at the Cosmos in Moscow. That's a great hotel!

Service was excellant, much better than most American Hotels. Located a bit off the beaten path, it is more than compensated for by having fresh air, compared to the stuffy hotels located more centrally in St Petersburg. Accomidations are a bit worn, but consider the country. Hotel was clean, staff was helpful. Taxis and buses at the front street side, metro was about a 15 minute walk away. Seems to cater to Americans , Brits, and Germans mostly. Tours available from lobby. ATM and currency exchange in lobby.
