Telemark Resort, Cable

From the moment I arrived in the lobby where a large, cozy fireplace welcomed me I felt at home at this wonderful rustic retreat nestled in the beautiful northwoods of Wisconsin. The resort itself is fairly large and the surrounding landscape is beautiful. It is perfect for those who love to hike, ATV, ski or just soak in the solitude of the woods. The resort does show some wear but is clean and well kept. My room was spacious and clean with a balcony overlooking a small pond. There were a couple of restaurants, a bar, small arcade area, and an indoor pool. Food was ok, not great but good. Staff was very friendly, accomodating. Overall I really enjoyed my stay at the Telemark and I look forward to returning next year!

old ,thin walls ,should of been added on to or updated ,or torn down.it was hard getting any sleep with the walls being so thin.and the floors vibrated when people walked normal.

The room was average: not particularly attractive but at least roomy. The upholstered chairs at the table were so low that even my tall husband had to borrow a cushion from the sofa in order to play cards in comfort, there was no hair dryer, and when we walked in the room was hot and muggy with no way to open the deck door to let in the perfectly comfortable outdoor air. And the steak my husband ordered for $22 was in his opinion the worst he has had in his entire life (he's 79). I tasted it and it tasted very much like cheap meat which had been tenderized (mushy, tasteless): no wonder the wait person first brought out an overdone piece altho that was hardly what we ordered and only reluctantly went after another that was done to our taste...

Had a wonderful time for family get together! Resort is older and shows some wear but the pool indoors is warm for kids (great time) and the rooms were clean and large. Prices are low. Rustic atmospehere, architect who designed lodge was student of Frank Lloyd Wright. Fireplace in lobby is something to see! Cross country skiing is best ever! Tubing/sledding hill was fun! Snowmobiling ATV trails come to lodge. Plan to go back soon.
