Beautiful hotel / poor customer service
By Yahoo User, 10/22/09
I recently attended the The Hotel Hershey and Hershey Spa. The hotel is beautiful and nicely decorated. I really like the old pictures of Milton Hershey in the halls. The rooms are nice but somewhat small. My favorite part of the hotel is the fountain lobby! While I was staying at the hotel I also visited the spa. I went to the spa with so much excitement to have a chocolate treatment! However, I was very dissatisfied with the level of service I received at check in. I was greeted at the spa by a girl either named, Amelia or Amanda (I can't remember) who was very rude and short with me. This is NOT the kind of service I expect from such a nice spa! I was very turned off by her lack of hospitality. On the other hand, I had a Cocoa Massage that was wonderful!!! If you are going to attend the Spa at the Hotel Hershey, make sure you get this massage, just be sure to avoid rude customer service at check in!

Worst Place , and not friendly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/09
You were not treated like royalty. I have stayed at many hotels and this is one I would not recomend to anyone. Left early because of people not friendly at all. The hotel is definitely over rated.

Great Sunday Brunch
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/09
We recently went to Pennsylvania at the end of June to visit with some cousins that live down there. They suggested Hotel Hershey for a brunch. The brunch was in one of Hotel Hershey's many restaurants called The Circular Dining Room. The food was very good but more suitable for an adult palette. A bit pricey at $40/person but you should treat yourself to it at least once! It's a very classy place with a pianist and cellist for background music. There is a full review on the park and hotel right at http://blog.feelingthevibe.com/review-hershey-park-just-add-water/

Don't even bother with this place
By Tony, 08/11/08
If you want a small (closet) type room, with a mini bathroom and old furniture then this is the place for you. If you enjoy spending $429 on a small run down room with a small outdoor pool, then again this is the place for you. If you want a nice room, nice bathroom and a nice pool, then stay someone else. I would not tell my worst enemy to stay here.

I love this Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/08
Every time I go to hershey I stay at this hotel. Usually wen I arrive the room is not ready so we go to the park. Wen you check in they give you free chocolate bars. I love how close the hotel is to the park. There was only one problem with this hotel. Here is the story. Me and my family were at the park and over a loud speaker they said that severe thunder storms were coming this way. Me and my family and about everyone else in the park decided to stay in the park and wait it out. It started to poor rain so hard that i could only see several feet in front of me. It started flooding. The thunder was sooooo loud that you had to cover your ears. We were stuck outside soaking wet and freezing cold because of the 50 mph winds. The drainage system blew up beside us sending a geyser of water into the sky. It was scary. We were stuck there for 4 hours in the rain because the buses were not running but when we called the hotel they said the buses were running but we were right where you would get the busses but non came. But evean with that i still love this hotel. I would go back there any time.

Little disappointed
By Raymond, 06/25/08
Last time we traveled to Hershey we stayed at the Hershey Lodge and was very pleased. This time I decided to upgrade and go with the Hershey Hotel. I have to say that next time I'll be back at the Lodge. While the Hershy Hotel is certainly more opulent (and does have a beautiful garden out back), it just wasn't worth the extra expense. Our room was smaller, bathroom was very tiny, and the overall look of the room was that it needed to be renovated. Other parts of the hotel are in need of an upgrade/renovation as well. On the plus side, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful (almost as much as they are at Disney hotels); and the restaurants were good. If you're looking for a romantic hotel for just the two of you, get a big room and stay here. If you're staying with a family on vacation, or traveling on business, go with the slightly cheaper Hershey Lodge.

A big disappointment!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/08
We just got back from a stay on 3/22/08. The Hotel is not very clean. Both my son and I got bit while sleeping (bedbugs?) We were very itchy while sleeping. Also, the mini bar items were all expired (some over a year expired!). The soda machine items were also months past expiration date. The front desk staff is for the most part very unfriendly and unhelpful. For the price, you are much better off staying at the Hershey Lodge or and off site property. The rooms are VERY small and not what you would expect for $300+ per night. The indoor pool and the Circular Restaurant were both very nice and the best thing about this hotel.
