Attean Lake Lodge, Jackman

I have been to Attean Lake Lodge several times, with another visit in the plans. Attean is perfect for those who like to get away from it all but don't want to give up the comforts of hot water, nor do they want the hassles of doing their own cooking. The lake is set in the White Mountains and the shores are totally undeveloped. Driving time from Manchester, NH is roughly 3 hours. All of the cabins have decks overlooking the lake and all come complete with hot water, showers, and a fireplace. Ice is delivered daily to cabins, kerosene is provided for lamps, and friendly staff makes the beds daily. There is no electricity in them, meaning no tv though the main lodge does for those needing a "fix." Breakfast and dinner are served in the lodge and bag lunches are provided. Lake Attean is perfect for anybody, family or singles, who wants to be entertained by the sound of Loons calling, boating, swimming a hike or two, fishing (lots available in Lake Attean and nearby rivers), reading a good book, or just sitting on the decks staring out into the lapping waves. I can't wait for my next visit!
