good choice
By natty, 04/21/08
we enjoyed staying here, the room amenities are good for families the only suggestion I have it that they should update the rooms. The pool and bar was great and the beach was right there. We would go back again.

An annual adventure!
By lindsay, 12/13/05
I stay at the West Wind Inn at least once a year. The hotel is well equipped with a terrific pool, tennis courts, a delicious restraunt, that also delivers a select menu to the pool which is very convenient, volleyball net, shuffleboard, a wonderful bar with friendly service, and amazing white beaches with plenty of shells and many creatures to see. The staff is out of this world, very quick and happy to accomodate. I live nearby in Cape Coral, Fl and I wouldn't go anywhere else for a great getaway with my family. Definitely recieves an A+ for being the best in the Fort Myers/Sanibel area.

Excellent value

The service was excellent. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. Sanibel Island is a beautifull place and you are minutes away from everything. Being on the beach is a great plus.

Beautiful ,fun and relaxing!!!
By Kristie, 06/04/05
What a pleasant surprise this place was to my family and I. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and so were the beds. The cleanest and most well maintained property of our entire vacation which stretched from Tampa to Captiva. During our ten day excursion this was the most enjoyable by far. My children, boy:7 and girl:5, did not want to leave. Beach location is nice and peaceful, not crowded like Fort Myers. Lots of shells, get up early for best finds though. Pool was large and well maintained. Seperate kiddie pool for little ones. Pool bar was also great. The employees were all very kind, especially to my kids. The food and service at the restraunt were wonderful. Breakfast was a real treat, something for adults and children. My parents, who are in their fifties, also enjoyed staying here. We definitely plan on returning , hopefully, with the whole family for a reunion. Quick note: Bring good mosquito repellant. "No-see-ums" were a problem on our last day. At the beach and the shell washing shack we got bit.(Seasonal annoyance)

Bed Mites Live Here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/09/05
My sister and I stayed in Rm 138 and she got bed mites (diagnosed by dr). Hotel is being very rude about this. They aren't beach bug bites as we only spent 45 min shelling on the beach our entire trip and never laid around in the sand. I didn't get these bites and would've since we were together while on the beach. Not very nice people to deal with if you have a problem. Don't stay here if you don't want to go home with red welts and itching! She slept on top of the comforter and I totally removed it so the mites were in her comforter.

A good place to go
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/07/05
Hotel itself was very good. Ammenities and the beach make it a great place to stay if you are looking for quiet enjoyment. The six dollar toll onto Sanibel Is is quite steep and even though it is only one way, it does make you think twice before leaving the Islant to see what else is in the Ft Meyers area. Also traffic this time of year was horrible. Something else to consider when planning a trip to the mainland. We went for the quiet walks on the beach and shelling. The shelling was not quite as good as advertised but the best we found in FL.
