Cheap (and shows it!)

I came back in early 2007 because on my previous visit, 12 years ago, this was a really nice hotel. Apparently the rooms have been unchanged in the intervening years. There was only lukewarm water from the shower, and the heating system was circa-1970. The wood panelling is atmospheric but combined with limited brass lamps makes for a rather dark room. Housekeeping was a bit hit-and-miss. The room has a coffee maker (no tea bags) but no refrigerator or mini-bar. Several website (including Yahoo) list "complementary transportation" or "hotel van" but this is untrue.
The "free breakfast buffet" was especially disappointing - it was coffee and trays of mini-pancakes, eggs, bacon, and potatos. No toast, cereal, fruit, or yogurt. They charge extra for orange juice! The bar smelled of leaking sewage pipes. One of the front desk staff was really helpful but mostly not.
The location is quite good and the price is low, but you definitely get what you pay for with this one.
