Comfort Suites Biddeford, Biddeford

I can't believe all the positive reviews about the cleanliness of this place. Things must have declined rapidly! We stayed for one night, as my son was moving into his dorm room at the University of New England in Biddeford the following day. Check in was no problem and the lobby/eating area/pool looked nice. The minute we opened the door to the room we knew we were in trouble. An overwhelming odor of old cigarette smell hit us. Smoking is now prohibited in hotel rooms in Maine, so the smell must have been there for years. I guess no one has ever washed the walls, dry cleaned the curtains (which we found to be full of little holes in the early morning light) or shampooed the carpet (which felt kind of damp and slightly sticky - I refused to walk on it in bare feet). The smell was so bad it was making me sick. There were also burn marks all around the sink where previous guests had left their butts burning. The next problem arose when my son tried to turn on the TV - no remote. I went to the desk where they gave me a new one - it didn't work. The desk clerk said someone who knew how to program it would be in later that night. We waited and got a new, freshly programmed remote - it didn't work either! We just gave up at that point. As others have mentioned, there was plenty of black mold in the shower. There was also something splattered and running down the wall next to one window and the battery compartment on the smoke detector was open with no battery inside. Every soda vending machine in the building was empty. The mattresses were very soft and in need of replacement. Breakfast wasn't bad, but I was somewhat reluctant to eat it knowing how lax the cleanliness was in this hotel. We'll never stay here again. There is a Holiday Inn Express in Saco that is cheaper and better, even if it is a bit farther. Stay away!!

This is the worst place me and my family ever stayed . 1. The water is not even hot by the time you get out of the shower your lips are blue. 2. There are no towels at the pool 3 all the hotels i have ever been to have hot choclate here only has tea and coffee 4. the rooms are cold we hated it worst place ever

Rooms were clean, Love the way the room was set up. The front desk staff were very accomodating and also had a delicious breakfast every morning. The 3 times that we stayed here is worth giving them Five stars. Keep up the great job....

the suites are spacious and very clean, the front desk and all hotel staff professional and accomodating breakfast for free and so yummy, many healthy options and kid friendly. manager outgoing and friendly, she is a keeper. I am so happy I have chosen this hotel over a bb in kennebunk/port and will recommend. ***

I am a business traveller and I see many diffrent hotels. I must give *** and say that the cleaniness and set up of the suites is one of the best, very accomodating front desk staff, a delicious breakfast that changes every morning, so when I am traveling on business and have to stay a couple nights I wont eat the same 2 days in a row. Keep up the great job!!!

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Front desk staff was willing to help in any way to make our stay more comfortable, to give us directions to nearby places, etc. Room was clean and large enough for the 5 of us. About 25 minutes from Kennebunkport area.

The hotel was very clean and the front desk staff were so helpful in finding everything from local resturants to beaches. Although the room was a little expensive it was well worth it. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic!!! I can't wait to go back!

A bit on the expensive side but it is a great place for a few nights. Very clean and front desk was very helpful in finding things to do.

Well I guess it depends on the time you stay at this place. I've seen anywhere from being the greatest place to the worst place in less then 4 months. One stay left us with cockroaches to having a cold pool room. Another stay left us with everything being fine. Then another stay when there was a pipe bursting and everyone had to evacuate and false alarms when the waffle maker don't get stopped when it's supose to. So I guess it all depends.. but it's on you.
