Loved the hotel.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/09
I stayed in the Flanders Hotel the past 2 summers and found the hotel just beautiful. The hotel was like something out of the past, like I would have pictured it as a child. The lobby was elegant and it took you back in time when we all went somewhere just to relax. I enjoyed being so close the boardwalk and although the amusement area was a bit noisy, it was nice to hear everyone having a good time. The staff was polite and very accommodating. This hotel may have been more expensive as others, but the location is a plus. The pool was very clean and well maintained. I would definitely return!

Perfect Wedding Site
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/26/08
I just arrived home after a perfect wedding week-end at Flanders. The staff friendly and professional. Suites were beatiful and very well appointed. After reading a few of the reviews I was apprehensive as to what our experiance at Flanders would be. One word Perfect!!!!! This hotel could compete with any fine hotel both national or inter-national. Food five stars. Thanks for wonderful memories. JM Boston MA

No where else to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/07
My family has been coming to this hotel for the past 6 years, and wow! Let me just say that it gets bigger and better every year. We really liked it at first, and have grown to love it as the years pass. The rooms become more beautiful every year, and they have actually added new rooms that are beyond amazing! We have stayed in all different size apts. here, from the smaller ones when it was just us and the one child, to a penthouses for the extended family! Plus I'm hearing that that there's going to be a 5 bedroom available next summer! We are psyched! The staff is so warm and helpful, the rooms are spotless and you can't beat the location. Oh, and did I mention the restaurant that's open all year? The soups are to die for, and the food sumptious. Service is the friendliest and best ever! We are so glad we found this place and have stuck with it through it all. Oh yes, and they tell you "welcome home" when you come back, it's so cool!

Location is not every thing, when the service is horrible at best.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/02/07
Location is not every thing, when the service is horrible at best. Here are some examples: Housekeeping, At most Hotel’s this service just happens. Not at the Flander’s Hotel, you must ask for Housekeeping. You are not told this; you find it out when you are looking for a clean towel. I found that most guests just put their dirty laundry and garbage in the hallway and this seemed to get the point across that Housekeeping was needed. No phone service in your luxury suite for internal or external calls. I was taken back when I was told to use my cell phone to call the restaurant in the Hotel. No Bell Captain or Staff to get your luggage from the parking lot across the street. Can not charge items to room (pool side dining or Emily’s Ocean Room Café and Restaurant) I was not looking to be pampered, but just the basic Hotel services that one would except at the I quote “...the finest Grand Hotel in Southern New Jersey,” Nice sized 2 room suite, but if it was truly again I need to qoute "completely renovated to modern luxury comfort" I would not have to had to sleep on a lumpy old bed. What a disappointment!!

Romance Revisited
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/06
As a life long OC native, I have had the pleasure of attending functions at the Flanders many times. On our most recent visit, my wife and I had fond memories flood back to us from our wedding reception held here. Everything was just as good now as we remembered then. She is still THE Grand Hotel of OC. Great food, wonderful staff and a visual pleasure.

Everything we hoped for.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/28/06
We had a wonderful 3 day stay at the Flanders. The location is ideal, we walked out of the lobby and onto the boardwalk and beach. We have 2 children, and enjoyed being steps away from the amusements. We never moved our car, eating in the hotel restaurant or on the boardwalk. The hotel pool was clean, and we enjoyed it a few times, but the surroundings look a little tired compared to the beauty of the suites and lobby. Our suite was ultra clean, and it was convenient to be able to keep food in the fridge and make smaller meals in the full kitchen in each suite. Because each suite in the hotel has 2 full rooms, we could watch what we wanted to in the bedroom, while the kids had their own dvd player in the living room on their sleeper sofa, which is a huge advantage over typical hotels. This is an ideal hotel for families - we will definitely stay here again!

Don't Stay Here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/06
Although the location can't be beat, this is a horrible hotel and I would not recommend it to anyone. We had a party of 5 and arrived to find no blankets, dirty sheets and were missing one pillow. Also, the phones didn't work, the wire came out of the TV, the lamps didn't work and to top if all off a big piece of wood fell from the headboard onto the bed. The wood was taped onto the headboard and would have really hurt someone if they were laying there. The room was so bad it was actually comical. We were told that the sheets, blankets and pillows would be send to our room the first night. They never came and when we asked again we were told that housekeeping had left and there was no way to get us the bedding we needed. At $342.00 a night, this was totally unacceptable to us, but what could we do at that point? The next night we had our bedding, and maintenance had fixed the headboard, but still the phones, tv, dvd player and lamps still had problems. The beds were the most uncomfortable we ever slept in, the bedspread had holes and the hotel had a stench. There was also a line at the front desk, not to check in, but of people complaining. This hotel is run just horribly. I would never stay here again.

awful!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/06
My family just came home from the flanders and to say the least, we will NEVER return! There is too much to even write. Here are a few... First, when we arrived, we wanted to look at the very ADVERTISED OCEAN ROOM restaurant. Guess what, not open!! under renovation(not told to us!). Then the gift shop... guess what...no gift shop! Then the pool...HORRIBLE!!! WORSE than the CHEAPEST hotels that we have stayed in!!!!! What they don't advertise is that it is right up against the amusement rides! So we had a lovely view of a log flume! not to mention the noise!!! Then,to top it off... When we were out there, trying our best to make it work and relax away from our busy jobs, workers started welding and drilling!!! It was so noisy we couldnt hear each other talk! What class! get real!! the maid service was inexcusable! EVERY day we were there, we had to go to the front desk and ask when our room was going to be done! This was at 4:00 p.m.!!!! We left our room at 9:00a.m. every day and it STILL was not cleaned!!!! Take my advice, go to a cheaper hotel- anything would top this!!!

Go there every summer at least for a long weekend.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/19/06
It is right on the boardwalk, it is clean and it's the nicest hotel in Ocean City. The kids love it. It's better than renting a house becaue you get the heated pool.

Wonderful time!
By Chris, 02/28/06
The Flanders is a very wonderful hotel to stay in! The room i stayed in was newly remodeled and was very clean. We also had a view of the beach and the small amusement park. We had a very easy check in and everything was very smooth. It was a very gorgeous hotel. What was also nice about the hotel was that it was so close to the boardwalk and the beach. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! We had a great time!
