Overcharged and refused to fix the problem.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/24/10
I booked a block of rooms here for a weekend event, and was charged an extra night for one of the rooms. The manager was argumentative and unhelpful, blaming my guest for not noticing the mistake. I had to call to follow up on other details multiple times, they were unable to email me my reciepts until I had called multiple times. It's unfortunate, because I was generally happy with the accomodations, and would have used this hotel for future events - not anymore!

Do NOT stay here--BEDBUGS
By Colleen Burns, 2/17/09
I stayed at La Quinta Queens in November, and was eaten alive by bedbugs. I had bites down my neck, arms, and even on my face. La Quinta did NOT care, and refused to refund my money. I have horrible photos to prove it. I even took it up with La Quinta Corporate, who also did not care. Stay at your own risk.

Be aware - Bed Bugs!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/4/08
My husband and I wanted to stay near the Metro, but we will NOT stay here next time. Both of us had bed bugs bites upon our return. It's not worth saving a couple of bucks to have bug bites and have them possibly come home with you. We still are not sure if they have infested our OWN home.

Will go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/12/08
This is a small hotel, not equiped for handicap.. Cindy at the front desk was WONDERFUL , VERY HELPFUL,. I was in room 206, the bathroom smelled like urine.. maid came in an sprayed so it was better. The rooms do not have mirocwaves you have to go downstairs to the area where they have breakfast in the AM, but the microwave was dirty. Mcdonalds next door closed /remodeling.... There is a Wendys/ BurgerKing all around... 2blks to train.. hope on and you are in NYC in a flash... For a place where you are going to sleep, shower and use the bathroom.. The $ was well worth it.. vs $100 + more a night in NYC, when you would not stay in your room... So save the bucks, Stay here, take the trian over to NYC $2 for subway fare each way....

Horrible Service
By Terrible Bank, 8/13/08
The hotel was clean and the location was nice, but the customer service was horrible. They seem to have a policy of overbooking nearly every night you saw some one with a reservation trying to check in oly to find out there was no room for them. We had flight issues and were told our room would be available the next day and it was not we had to sit in the lobby for a long time. Our vacation was prepaid and they would not refund our money, despite the fact they had rebooked the room, without rebooking at a higer rate so we would still be paying the same amount. So they got a double fee on a room one night. I do not recommend staying here.

Great Central Location - Helpful Desk
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/17/07
We were just two blocks from the 7 train (MTA), which took us to Shea Stadium, Time Square, etc. Also, the hotel is surrounded by interesting ethnic restaurants of all types. Front desk was very helpful, rooms were clean, quiet at night, comfortable beds, and delicious bagels at the complimentary continental breakfast! Would stay again.

You get what you pay for ...
By G.G, 10/18/06
My only like: Distance to NYC, i.e. very close to train (#7 is 3 blocks). What I dislike: 1. Customer Service is not in the vocabulary of the staff. ZERO, Nothing. Hotel is ALWAYS right. I asked for non-smoking room, and I got a smoking room. When I asked for non-smoking if it becomes available, they told me to CALL EVERY DAY (while I'm staying there!). What a dump! 2. Shower curtains have some bacteria growth on the bottom .... disgusting. 3. Bathroom grout has some black mold growing under the grout ... disgusting. 4. Carpeting has burn holes in SEVERAL areas of the room ... disgusting. 5. Elevator starts in basement or 2nd floor, but not in lobby level. You need to carry your bags either up one flight or down one flight of stairs ... Stupid. 6. Neighborhood: does not exist. This is a commercial zone. Nothing much and kind of desolate. The elevated 7-train (the "el") is directly across the street. And after your 3-block walk to the 7-train entrance, it is a 3-story walk-up to the platform. If you have luggage, I feel sorry. All in all, its 25 minutes to midtown. If the hotel was not so close to the city, no one would stay there. Remember, if you are used to a service hotel, run away from this place.
