Movie nightmare
By Jubei, 11/05/09
I am sitting with my husband tonight watching I Love You, Man; being a great movie it strikes a bad memory of this hotel. I was on my honeymoon with my husband and we were looking for a nice place to stay because we had tickets to see Chelsea vs Team America. The Dallas Cowboys Stadium recommends this spot on their website so we went to check it out. The resort is beautiful and we were able to get a room which was nothing special to talk about. We left to go see the practice session the day before the game. When we returned we went to eat at the steakhouse inside the resort and we really enjoyed the lobster bisque. After our day was going well and we were enjoying our special week we went back up to our room to watch a movie provided by the resort to order. You can guess what movie we picked. Well it was late and my husband and I were laughing because we were watching a comedy. Well, one of the neighbors called security on us. The security guy was extremely rude and told my husband when he answered the door to turn down the movie and if there was anyone in the room that was not permitted to leave. He was accusing us of having a group of people in our room. We could only assume he was thinking we came from the nightclub they have in the resort but we did not even go there on our trip. Why provide a movie you can't even enjoy and threaten us with a warning and the next time we would be kicked out... for WATCHING A MOVIE! I would not recommend this place because you can't enjoy all of it.

Beautiful!
By Cowboy Fan, 10/11/09
This place is beautiful. Well maintained and clean. I did not have a problem with noise and my view was wonderful. The food was excellent and reasonable in price. I have no compliants. I was there thru Maximum Sports Connection, to see the Cowboys, so I did not pay the hotel directly.

Get to know your Neighbors
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/09
Very impressive and enjoyable. Complaints are you can hear everything your neighbors talk about.. I know the name of the parents and children next to us withoutever seeing them. Don't go to River Walk to eat. They give you small salad plates to eat on and you get tired going back and forth to get enough to eat, and the food is not that good.

Nice resort with lots of hidden fees
By Jamie, 07/13/09
they charge $15 per day for the use of their workout room, newspaper, and bottle of water in room $16 to self park and $24 for valet (daily fee) Outdoor pool is EXTREMELY small for a resort this size. We couldn't get a chair or get in the pool. Walls are thin between rooms. We were woke up by a screaming baby at 6:30am, and then their toddler running laps in the room. Food is pricey at all restaurants. Burger and fries will cost you $13. The Glass Cactus night club was great. Drinks were pricey but it is a club like you would see in Hollywood. Make table reservations or you will be standing the whole night. Overall, bring lots of money to enjoy yourself.

Wanna have a Nightmare??? Don't GO HERE!!!!!!!!!
I very recently went to the Gaylord Texan to seek the "best" wedding consultant in the business. I was told this man could bring tears of joy to my wedding guests. Well upon arriving without having an appt, I was treated very kindly by the staff and was told that the man I was there to see was gone for the day @ 4:25pm. I was a bit curious as to why this was, but it was my fault for not alerting him of my arrival. I decided that I would take the opportunity, since I must still be frugal, to see if I could have a complimentary tasting of wine to get a better idea of what would work for the wedding. Well after being broadsided by a nonmentioned prior to the tasting of the wine, a bill of $235 dollars I was appaulled! From there the loss prevention department was called, the police and I exorted out IN HANDCUFFS BY THE lovely Grapevine POLICE! I was taken in THREE CHARGES! Pubic Intoxication (no way in hell, as I was eating pate, fruit and cheeses along with the small one ounce glasses of wine, and not even given the opportunity to be given a breathalizer) THEFT of SERVICES (for the huge bill) and CRIMINAL TRESPASSING! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So I'm just wondering if the employee that left Disneyworld knew about the type of amazing customer service this place has. Dreams don't come true, the worst part about it, my Fiance asked me to marry him on the lake right in front of the place. So after serving 4 DAYS in jail, I called and realized my car was towed, and now have a bill around $600 dollars to get it out! Awesome! I even called to try to rectify the situation, and was told that if I paid the bill the theft charges would be dropped. Awesome again. However, they still would not drop the criminal trespassing. So, Now after giving them two chances, I have decided to never bring my business there, family or ever mention their name to any of my associates. Thier loss not mine, the best part about it.....Im writing a book, and they are going to have their reputation put all over it. Hey, shit happens. I had no interest in being vengeful, but at this point it has gone way too far. This should be the happiest time of my life. Please don't let this MONEY HUNGRY BUSINESS EAT YOU TOO!

Horrible
By AmeJ, 09/16/08
I took my husband for their "Just the two of us" package. I bought it with one of their gift certificates. When we made the reservation they asked for a credit card to hold the room, no problem I gave it to them. When we checked in I let them know I had bought a gift certificate from them for this certain package. Then they need to see a credit card for any extras that may be charged. No problem I gave them one. After all was said and done I was charged full price times 3, over $1900.00. I have been trying to get all the charges reversed. It has been a nightmare! They seem to think this is all normal buisness. I will NEVER use one of their hotels again. So much for that relaxing, romantic weekend!

I wouldn't go again
By Curtis, 05/27/08
When I made my reservations, I booked a room with a king bed. When I arrived I got a room with 2 queen beds. The view that I got wasn't what I had in mind and was able to upgrade to an interior room with a view to the atrium, however, again with 2 queen beds. When I inquired about this the response I got was that there was a convention/reunion taking place and no other kings available. If I booked it why didn't get it? Also, when I booked, I inquired about the parking and was told that it was $12 for self and $15 for valet. When we arrived valet was $24. I wasn't the only person complaining about it, there was a family from Colorado and they had the same info about the valet prices. Overall, for what was there with the price was way overpriced. I would not recommend this hotel/resort to anyone.

Walls as thin as paper!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/26/08
The Gaylord Texan does a nice job recreating a scaled down version of the "Riverwalk" but customer service is not it's strong point. If you don't mind incredibly high prices for dining, parking, and accommodations then this is your hotel. In our room, we could hear every word of conversation from our next door neighbors which was unfortunately at 2:00 am. The occupants where not being loud, they were just carrying on conversations. I don't think I should be able to hear normal volume speaking through a $300 a night hotel wall. When our many issues were addressed with management, they were rude. They credited our account for breakfast and we were told that was more than fair for a noise complaint. The problem being that we had holes in the bed linens, rude service at both dinner and breakfast, walls we could hear through, an in room service charge on the bill we didn't make, and other hassles while staying at what is supposed to be a first class hotel. Save your money and find another hotel in the area. There are many to choose from that won't charge you $12/day to self park and $18/day resort fee. For one night stay, dinner, and pedicures, the total charge was $670. Other than the atrium of this hotel and the spa, it offers no advantages over a Holiday Inn.

A Great Place To Stay
By Sparky, 03/26/08
I've had the pleasure of staying here numerous occasions over the last year. I have been really pleased with the consistency in service and cleanliness. The Texan Station restaurant is a great place to watch a game and get your people watching in too. My only complaint would be the parking charge, although that can be taken care of just by getting a validation ticket when you eat/drink at the hotel.

Little Texas
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/07/08
I loved the courtyard with the river walks, fountains and waterfalls. The coffee shop was my favorite haunt. The meeting rooms were pretty far away from the guest rooms but walking is healthy and I didn't have to deal with rain or muggy weather so I found it very delightful. The service was friendly, courteous and abundant. The gift shops were pricey but so are most hotel gift shops. Since this stay was covered by the company, I really cannot complain about the expense of it all. I was surprised that there was a charge for parking for their guests, since space isn't an issue there.
