Great Place to stay

I had planned for just one night stay as I hoped to camp. But the weather was so hot I stayed for 3 nights. There were plenty of rooms avaiable and the front desk offered my aKing suite for the same price of a two full size bed room. The King Suite was great for relaxing after a long day of seeing the sights and it was fabulous. The bed was very confortable and then there was the couch, mini fridge and microwave. Of the three hotels I used during my week in Illinois this was by far the best. If I had any complaints it would have been the continental breakfast, it was a bit thin when it came to choices, but I usually don't expect much anyways. The staff was very helpful. The pool is small if you want to use the pool but I wasn't there for that. I wanted to see some Abe Lincoln sites. So I was gone most of the day and came back to my room to rest. There are several nearby resturants to choose from for dinner though it seems that a couple had closed..

We rented a queen suite: room was VERY clean, bed was comfortable, pillows were a dream! No complaints

Never Again!!!!!

This "hotel" was horrible. First they gave us a room that was dirty...I mean the people checked out 5 minutes before we got there and they gave us the room anyway. Then they acted like we were inconveniencing them by asking for a clean room. The carpet was gross, the toilet overflowed (no fault of ours), we never had enough towels even after asking for more. The sheets were dirty and the maid never changed them. The people at the front were rude. The rooms were small and the pool was micro. The free breakfast was pitiful. I will never stay there again and I will tell everyone I know to go elsewhere to stay.

I would not recommend

The room smelled bad. There was a big stain on the window seat. And the neighbor was slamming doors. And the walls are so thin you could here everything going on. So if you want to sleep i would suggest go somewhere else. The swimming pool is not big enough either.

It was our first trip to Springfield, and our first use of a Microtel. The first room we were put in had no cold water, just hot. The same with the second room. BUT the third time was the charm!! The staff was very nice in helping us move from each room, and gave no complaints or grunts. The room was very clean and comfortable. We brought a small dog with us, and they had no problem with us leaving him in his crate in the room while we were site-seeing. The continental breakfast was more than you could ask for (actually it was delicious). It is a little far from the downtown museum area (about 15-20 minutes) but that's o.k. There are many restaurants around this hotel to grab a quick dinner at, and they even offer a discount at Cheddar's if you show them your hotel key. All in all, for the price, the stay was so pleasant that we even extended it another night. We will DEFINITELY return to this Microtel on our next visit, and I suggest you do the same. Three stars to you!!!

Quite possibly the BEST hotel Value in Springfield!!!

On a recent trip to Springfield....we "Discovered" this wonderful hotel.... We had booked rooms online at another hotel (Super 8 South)...but when we arrived...we found THAT hotel to be virtually "uninhabitable" ( Dead bugs and dirt in the room carpets...hair in the sinks...exposed wiring where smoke detectors SHOULD have been....and an air conditioner that could BARELY circulate air...let alone lower the room temperature below 99 degrees) Needless to say...we didnt stay there! So....when we found rooms available at the Springfield MICROTEL.....the Contrast between the two hotels....was tremendous! At MICROTEL we found NEAT, BRIGHT AND CLEAN ROOMS....at a VERY resonable rate! PLUS the added benefit of having a staff that actually seemed to have our comfort and security as their number one concern!! Would we stay at this hotel again? YOU BET!! We'd recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

Good Clean Place to Stay
