HEM Hotel Amsterdam, Amsterdam

Sure, the pictures in the internet were very very enticing. Spacious rooms, private toilet and bath, etc. etc. etc all for a very affodable price. I booked for three nights because of cheaper rates (thru the internet), but when I emailed them and asked for directions on how to get there from the airport, they simply answered: just take a taxi from the Schipol...it's just a 20 minute ride. Or so I thought. Getting there from the airport was an ordeal. The information desk at the airport had no idea where the hotel is. So we had to take the train station going to the central station to ask for specific directions at the tourist info center. Only to find out that the hotel is a 40 minute train ride from the city. Argh. As if that's not enough, we finally got there at half past twelve in the afternoon, exhausted and hungry and tired from the long trip and are so eager to have a brief rest, only to be informed that we will be charged 40 Euros for early check in! So after paying the so-called charge for "early check in" they led us to a separate building..... a trailer to be exact! A trailer with around 30 rooms in it. The bathroom was very very small, the heater wasn't really hot at night,you could hear loud footsteps upstairs at night, and the place smells like pot the whole time! I WILL NEVER EVER GET BACK TO THIS HOTEL!!!!!
