False Advertising
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/11/08
I've been staying at the hotel for awhile and the bill boards in the area say free internet... it is not. They charge ridiculous prices to access the internet. They also have lousy free cable. They cut over five channels of good movie channel including my favorite the Sci=Fi channel. Some channels lose audio and they have poor video. I plan to move where TV is better.

Greatest value in Vegas
By Charley, 07/11/07
We stayed at the hotel from 2 Jul thru 6 Jul 07. Check in was fast and friendly. When we got to the room and opened the door it was like a apartment. Stove, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. Room was very clean. Beds, mattress and linens were fresh and very comfortable. The bathroom was uberclean. towel were delivered fresh everyday. Soap for the dishwarsher and coffe for the coffeemaker was already in the room. The have a very nice pool and the laundry room has a large number of washers and dryers(detergent avil at office. We have stayed at the big hotels and paid the big hotel price. The Tropicana is just a few miles from the strip. But if you want to get away from the smoke and noise. prepare a home cooked meal the Tropicana is the place to stay. Don't let any negative reviews throw you. this place was great and inexpensive

Will definitely go back again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/07
Got a free upgrade to a two-bed suite during the busy July4th week. Had good service all the four days. Since we cooked at the suite, found the kitchen very useful. Pretty close to the strip and the freeway. The passing tain was a bit disturbing at times. We will go there again.

convenient
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/07
It depends what one wants; a super nice room to sleep in or a cheap room so you can hang out on the Strip. It is about 2 miles from the strip (they say it’s ½ mile but is not). It is no way one can walk to the strip. However, they have shuttles to the strip and airport. If one calls the hotel, they will send you a shuttle wherever you are. Overall it gives one a feeling of not clean. They fixed my room every day but I had to ask for towels myself. It did not bother me since I know the suites do this to keep the costs low. It is nice since it has the kitchen and if on a budget, a Smith's supermarket is 2 miles up the street. There is a railroad right in the back of the motel, but it really does not make much noise. However, the crowd that comes at the motel over the weekend can become annoyingly loud. There is nothing one can do. For the money it is great. I won’t go there again, but it was worth it.

Trashy & Dirty
By RubenJ, 06/20/06
Please avoid ruining your vacation. I stayed at the Tropicana Emerald Suites location. It has a train passing through behind the buildings that do not let you sleep at all. The maids are lazy and they do not clean daily, nor do they change the sheets, leave towels, or toilet paper. I had to call the office daily for the basics. I returned to my room one day to find that the maids had left my door open and my $250 digital camera was stolen. There is also heavy traffic around this location, so while it is only a few blocks away from the Strip, those three blocks turn into a 45+ minute drive. The location is also hidden down a small side street so kind of have to guess what street to find it on.

We had money stolen from us!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/24/06
We stayed at this place for a conference. We had money stolen from us at this hotel. They were terrible to work with us on it. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. They transferred us to headquarters. The hotel told us that they would get a hold of us. THEY NEVER DID!!

Never again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/05/06
Toilet leaked the entire time we were there--had to use every towel each day to lay on floor so we could use the bathroom without slipping...our complaints went unheeded. No discount was offered nor a room change--we were told to complain to the reservation company. Service was poor...had to ask for bar soap, coffee packets etc. Maid did very little. Pop machine was broken, as well the pool/hot tub was out of order. Although we had booked months in advance we were given rooms next to a railroad track and where the long haul trucks parked--very noisy. In addition, a couple of bums lived in a culvert by the tracks next to the accomodations. Long ways to the strip.Would be worth the extra money to stay elsewhere. No coupons, discounts etc. were offered. Coffee or tea at the main office was seldom offered. Will not stay at any Emerald Suites again.

Huge Compromise!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/01/05
We stayed at this hotel during Thanksgiving Holiday this year. The ONLY good thing about this hotel is its price. But you would have to accept a HUGE COMPROMISE for saving a few bucks. The hotel is located in a very unsafe neighberhood, it is old and run down, it is not clean, you won't get a good service at all. We will never stay at this hotel again and don't recommend it to anybody.

Will never stay at Emerald Suites
By Scott, 11/10/05
There were numerous bad experiences at this hotel 1) Blinds in the bedroom were missing one slat so anyone could walk by and see in the room 2) After taking a shower and stepping out of the shower, the shower curtain and rod fell down, hitting my wife on the head. There was a coffee maker but no coffee and only one coffee mug. 3) The Emerald Suites shuttle was supposed to leave the hotel for the Tropicana casino every hour on the hour. We arrived for the shuttle at 7:45 the first morning and were told that the shuttle would not be back until 9:00 so we paid for a cab. 4) We called for a shuttle at the Tropicana and were told it would be there shortly. 1.5 hours later it still had not arrived so we called again and it finally came. 5) I called the manager about the blinds and shower curtain and I was told that maintenance was there and would fix the problems. When arriving back to the room at 6:30pm the room to freshen up, the cleaning staff had just arrived and stopped what they were doing and left. They did not even vacuum the carpet. The shower curtain and blinds still had not been fixed and for the second night in a row I had to go get coffee from the office and still had only one coffee mug. 6)Arrived for the shuttle at 8:30, there was already a couple waiting for 20 minutes. We were told 20 more minites, then 10 more minutes, then 5, then 10 again, finally my wife and I and another hotel patron, walked two blocks and paid for another cab ride. 7) We talked to at least 3, possibly 4 staff members. All were rude and not helpful at all. 8) Still no coffee but at least we got a second coffee mug. The trip to the aiport was a pleasant experience and the shuttle driver was very courteous. In conclusion, the hotel is not half bad but the service, the staff and the claims about the shuttle, will prevent me from ever stepping foot into another Emerald Suite hotel again.

Nothing fancy but good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/05
If you're planning to stay at the Emerald Suites, don't expect any fancy looking resort type hotel. Don't get me wrong, I stayed at Emerald Suites for an entire week and it suited me just fine. It's a great place to stay if you're vacationing and want someplace quiet to relax. Every room is basically like a one bedroom apartment. There's either one or two bedrooms, a bathroom, living room and full-kitchen. There's also a swimming pool and laundromat. I stayed at Emerald Suites during the hottest time of year and I have to say, that I really, really appreciated having a refrigerator with freezer to use. I bought drinks and ice cream that I had waiting for me each time I came back to my room. Also, since I was in Vegas for an entire week, I grew a little tired of the buffets and fast food joints. It was great to be able to pick up a some food at the grocery store or even to be able to bring back leftovers from restaurants to snack on later. Also, since it was hot and muggy, I was constantly changing clothes. It was great having a place to do a quick load of laundry while swimming just a few feet away. I totally recommend this place if you have children traveling with you and you need a place to chill or warm up formulas and baby food. Like I said, it's nothing fancy but totally worth the money. I got my room at a rate of only $39 per night. The only comment I would like make that is a negative one, is that the Emerald Suites do not have an elevator which can be a bit of a drag. This would explain why the maids are known for tossing the dirty linens over the balcony.
