Mountainside Lodge, Whistler

This hotel had been our Whistler Home since it was first built. We had not been back for a number of years until I was given a Whistler experience for my birthday. Dinner at Traattoria - perfect - Whistler return train trip incredible - Hotel.......not so much. Would I go back? No. Would I recommend the hotel to anyone - no. There is too much to choose from now so they should "clean up their act" and I really mean "clean up".We are returning to Whistler this month but we will not be booked at the Mountainside - but we wil have dinner at the Trattoria!!

This is paradise. The hotel more than met our expectations in terms of location, service, amenities and value. Fantastic restaurant located in the hotel. The Hotel staff were very friendly and the rooms were both comfortable and very nicely decorated. We will come back and stay at Mountainside next year.

The location is good but the service is terrible, the worst that I have ever encountered in my life. The staff are rude except for one desk clerk that says that she is quite new. Even the manager that I talked to seemed arrogant and unfriendly. I saw two staff members having an argument behind the check in desk. The room was a bit nice (it smelled funky) but the lack of service made me unsatisfied. The owners need to do something about this place. Avoid this place and stay at any other place in Whistler or better yet, go to Aspen instead, Mountainside gives Whistler a bad rep. This place was so bad that the hotel restaurant staff even comment on how terrible the hotel staff are. What's even worse, the hotel's own timeshare sales people say that the hotel manager is the most horrible person that they have ever met. What's even worse is that they over charged me. Do not go to this hotel.
