Zodiac Hotel, Al Hammamat

We stayed in the hotel last week 11th-16th of February overall the hotel was beautilful. But we had a couple of issues. The front of the hotel was under construction and when we were walking into the hotel they didnt stop they proceeded to work and a lump of plaster just missed me. 5 star hotel???????? On the Thursday we left the key in the room we knew the cleaner was in there so we told reception that the key was in the room and it was currently being cleaned they gave us the second key. We settled our bill Friday evening and when I went to hand the key back on Saturday morning they asked for the first key I explained to them we didn't get the first key as it was gone when we returned to the room. And we hadnt touched the mini bar because there was no key for the mini bar with the second key. The guy behind reception became quite irate with me and again I tried to expalin at this stage I was extremely embarrassed then my partner intervened he explained again the key was not there. They wanted 50 dinar for the key. We continued to walk out and an alarm/panic bell was pressed by the guy at reception at this stage it was so embarrassing. We were made feel like criminals and we were surrounded it was so humiliating. Eventually my partner asked him to step back inside the hotel as he continued to shout at us in public. We asked for the manager and were told he wasn't available then we asked for the assistant manager and were told the same we asked again to check with the cleaner and eventually they did and the key was with the cleaner all along. It was such a pity because we did have a good holiday but that really put a dampner on the whole holiday. Due to this episode we were extremely late for the airport After the treatment we received in the hotel we would think twice about staying or recommending the hotel

The rooms are clean, big and spacious. The location is good, at one end of the Yasmine tourist zone. However� They use the same menu for two of the restaurants (if not all of them) and for their room service too. The menu is boring, very �westernized� with just a few traces of local gastronomy. We went there during the spring, there were as few guests as staff. Service was slow specially during �restaurant shifts�. It is a good place to sleep, just that. Usually the �Leading Hotels� go beyond big and neat rooms, you expect things like three different menus if they have three different restaurants. Hasdrubal just keeps it too safe.

a hotel that offers everything -especially subdued luxury. great rooms, pool and beach-loads of space. restaurants v good. Spa facilities excellent. far enough from hammamet. will be making my 3rd visit this may. previously visited late august early sept. people very friendly if you friendly to them. great part of tunisia to visit, great sights and sites to see !!
